Savannah scooped up the cat, and gently stroked its head.
'Sorry. I didn't see you there.'
Loki purred.
'Hey, have I seen you before? You look familiar.'
Loki purred.
'Oh, you're injured! Come, I'll get Tony to help you.'
Loki hissed.
'I'll take that as a no, then.'
Loki purred. Savannah chuckled, and gently carried him back into Stark Tower, and up to her room. She carefully filled the bath, halfway, and submerged the cat into it. After testing the water, of course. She then rubbed his fur, softly, ridding it of the dirt and grime it had accumulated (Manhattan was filthy ), and she had to refill the bath twice, to fully cleanse him. Afterwards, she gingerly towelled him down, making sure to avoid his injured areas, and then bandaged him.
She carried him downstairs again, and introduced him to the Avengers. Well, not exactly.
'This is my cat.' she'd said, and gone upstairs again.
About ten seconds later, Tony burst in, startling Savannah. Nothing startled Loki.
'You can't keep him.'
'Is that so?'
'It is.'
'Why not?'
'Because I said so.'
'Not good enough.'
'Savannah, you are a not a heavy sleeper, so I shall have to drug you.'
Loki hissed.
'What?'
'Shush, I'm talking. I will drug you, and steal your cat.'
'You are a heavy sleeper.'
'What has that got to do with me cat-napping?'
'Tony, dear, if you touch Loki, I will come into your room, and remove any need for condoms you might ever have. Understood?'
Clearly Tony did, and he winced, covered his manhood with one hand, and started to back out of the room.
Loki purred. Savannah laughed.
'Y'know, Loki, he'll be back in about a minute.'
She was right.
'Loki?' Tony shouted, incredulously, 'You named your cat Loki?'
'Yes.'
'Why?'
'Because I miss him, and Loki reminded me of a cat, and the cat reminds me of Loki.'
'You miss him?'
'Yes, Tony. He was my friend.'
'He tried to take over Earth!'
'He also threw you out of a window, and for that I am grateful.'
'Ouch.'
'Tony, I haven't slept properly in a while, and unless you wish to be thrown out of a window again, I suggest you piss off.'
'Ouch.'
'You have little vocabulary, for a genius.'
'Was that an insult, or a compliment?'
'Both. Now get out, before I add injury to insult.'
'I thought it was insult to injury?'
'It is. I shall, however, make an exception for you.'
'Point taken.' Tony left, and, surprise, surprise, Loki purred.
'You remind me so much of him, y'know. I really do miss him, and I would do anything to find him again. He gave the best cuddles, and, don't tell him I said this, but he did have a sexy smirk. I'm probably going insane. Look at me, bringing in stray cats and naming them after people I love. I'm actually talking to a cat, and I expect him to understand me. Loki was like an older brother to me, and he was really protective, and sweet. I don't think I'll see him again, though. We think that Thanos has him, and he's probably torturing him, right now. I made friends with the Avengers, especially Tony, but I saw Loki as my best friend, and now he's gone. Tony and I had a big argument the day after he was hospitalized, when I was angry, and sad, because I couldn't see him. When he went missing, I lost it. I really hurt Tony's feelings, shouting and screaming at him until my voice went hoarse. I changed, into Ravennha, and I blasted him so hard, his arc-reactor nearly stopped.'
Savannah started crying, and Loki gently head-butted her hand, until she stopped sobbing.
'My fighting name is Ravennha, and the newspapers say it's because of my hair, and my wings,' she explained, seeing the questioning look in the cat's eyes.
'You actually look like him. I said he reminded me of a cat, and as a cat, you're surprisingly regal and dignified. Your eyes are the same intelligent green, your hair is the same black, and you listen to me. I know this sounds strange, but you even smell a bit like him.'
Loki wriggled closer to her, curling around himself. She laughed.
'You give pretty good cuddles too.'
Loki purred.
'Good night, Loki.'
Loki sneezed, and Savannah shot up.
'Sorry, I knew I'd forgotten something. Stay there, okay?'
Loki followed her.
'You are stubborn, too.'
Savannah reached up into the cupboards, and retrieved a tin, which she emptied out onto a dish, and placed in front of him, along with a bowl of water. She knew better than to give a cat milk. He consumed it, astoundingly quickly, and mewed for more. Food had never tasted so good.
'No, Loki, too much food on an empty stomach is bad for you.'
Loki huffed.
'C'mon, let's go talk to Steve.'
Without waiting for a reply, she carried him to the boxing-room, where Steve was busy demolishing another punching-bag. She tutted.
'Y'know, those are expensive.'
Steve jumped, and then grinned sheepishly at Savannah.
'Yes, but Tony can afford it.'
They both chuckled, and the rumble shook Loki, who wriggled closer to the warmth of Savannah's chest.
Loki decided he could get used to this.
