A/N MWA-HA-HA-HA *Starts coughing* Today it is my mother's birthday, and I did some more work on this, instead of doing whatever it was I signed onto my computer to do. (I honestly can't remember, and it's all your fault, people.) Sorry about all the swearing, I got carried away.

Loki moved closer, carefully using the shadows to conceal himself. Then, to his utter shock, Savannah leaned forward and hugged the man, giggling happily. Did she know him? What was going on?

'Nathan!' Savannah exclaimed, 'What are you doing here? Did Tony invite you?'

She was safe, clearly, and he would not intrude on her personal space further, instead calling for JARVIS to keep an eye on her, and silently returning downstairs. He was glad he did, because he was scarcely back amongst the throngs of people screaming at one another over the music, before JARVIS alerted him.

Sir, Miss Winters appears to be in trouble.

He was halfway to the roof before JARVIS could even finish. However, it wasn't the man from earlier, Nathan?, but a shorter, fatter man, far less aesthetically pleasing to the eye. He was definitely drunk. And he was touching Savannah. His Savannah. Though vaguely perturbed at the last thought, when had he begun to think of her as his?, he was more angry than anything else.

'Get off of me.'

'Oh, don't pretend you don't like it, you filthy whore. Don't you dare play coy with me.'

'Leave me alone, I just want to enjoy myself.'

'Stop acting like a frigid bitch, and have some fun then.'

'Stay away from me, I ...' The rest of the sentence was blocked off by a violent and possessive kiss.

Loki had had enough. Whether or not they were acting, as before, or Savannah was genuinely being harassed, no one was allowed to touch her but him. Surprised at his vehement reaction to a kiss, Loki hesitated a moment before stepping in. If Savannah were acting, she deserved an award. If not, then the man was going to take a trip down the side of Stark Tower. Loki strode forward, and forcibly pulled the man of off Savannah, and then closed his fingers around his neck. He was, at that point too angry to speak, and the other man would have found it hard too, being in a choke-hold and all. He finally got a grip on his anger long enough to turn to Savannah, who had frozen in surprise.

'This man,' Loki gestured. 'Was he assaulting you?' Savannah nodded dumbly, still in shock.

'Very well then.' Loki threw the man off of the roof.

Savannah's gasp of horror was ignored, and Loki turned, and made his way towards the roof door. He was almost there when Savannah leapt on him, shrieking and screaming profanities.

'What the fuck, Loki? You threw him off of the roof!'

'Yes, I am aware of the fact.'

'Dafuq? You just killed someone, and in case you are unaware of this fact, that's fucking illegal!'

'I did not kill him.'

'You fucking did, I saw you!'

'No, I merely threw him off of a roof.'

'How the fuck? How the fuck is he gonna survive that? This is a fucking skyscraper!'

'Your powers of observation are remarkably astute, Miss Winters.'

'Loki, you have thrown someone off of a skyscraper, and you're using fucking sarcasm? The man probably had a family, Loki, and now you've gone and killed him.'

'Mortal, how many times must I tell you, I have not killed him.' Loki was getting annoyed now, wasn't she supposed to be fawning over her saviour? Not that he cared, anyway.

'Right, so what do you immortals call throwing a person off of a very high building to their inevitable death?'

'He is still alive, woman.'

'How?'

'Magic.'

'But you said...'

'I know what I said, I have enough to provide a cushioning spell, but I shall be blue for a few more weeks now.'

'Why?'

'He was hurting you, was he not?'

'Yes, but-'

'Well then.'

'Loki, that is no excuse for throwing someone off of a roof!'

'Yes it is.'

'It bloody well is not. I'm going to bed.'

'Savannah, I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you-'

'Well you did, Loki. If your magic had failed, he would be an interesting new piece of art for the people of New York to observe. The shock alone could have killed him, Loki. I am pissed off with you, and I'm going to bed, alone.'

That night, the nightmares started again.

Loki did not come.

A/N: Sonia, if you have read this, when you see me tomorrow, the code is 'Peter Piper'. Sorry if the rest of you don't understand.
