Thanos could not find Loki. The runt's magic had shielded him well, and his best scryers were unable to find a trace of him. He was intelligent, however, and decided that he would make Loki find him. The woman, Ravennha, was fond of him, and he assumed that the feelings were mutual. As a mortal, she would be wonderfully simple to kill, and the Jotunn would surely avenge her. Better yet, Loki would appear while he was killing her, and he would force them to watch each other being tortured.
This would be good.
