Savannah emerged from her bedroom the next night. Other than Loki and Steve - one could not get drunk, and one chose not to, she was the only person not suffering from a hangover. She still looked the worst though. That night, the nightmares had been the worst yet, and she could not wake herself. She glanced at Loki, who seemed to be ignoring her, and she glared at him.
Tony, much to the annoyance of the other (hungover) Avengers, decided to tell everyone about a man on the front cover of the newspaper. The man claimed to have been thrown off of the roof of Stark Towers, by a magic blue alien from outer space.
All heads swivelled round to glare at Loki. He shrugged, and calmly stated that the man was violating a vulnerable young lady's modesty.
'I am not vulnerable.' The heads turned to Savannah now. 'I could have defended myself.'
'Without your powers?' Back to Loki.
'There is nothing wrong with my powers.' Savannah.
'Forgive me if I'm wrong, but your powers can not be triggered if you are frightened, am I correct?' Loki.
'Yes, but-' Savannah.
'You were frightened on the roof, were you not?' Loki.
'Yes, but-' Savannah again.
'Well then.' And with that, Loki swept out of the room, leaving behind a furious Savannah and a rather angry Tony.
'If I could kill him, I would.' Savannah growled. The other Avengers were too busy managing their hangovers, and mourning the loss of their verbal ping-pong match to argue.
Tony, who was now visibly shaking with anger, soon left afterwards, claiming to want to work on a project in his workshop. He was halfway through designing a personal alarm for Savannah, when Loki appeared.
'I thought you had no magic.'
'I do not, you are just incredibly easy to sneak up on.'
'What do you want?'
'Savannah.'
'What?'
'Her safety, I mean.'
'Oh. Well you need not fear, Reindeer Games, for I, the fabulous Tony Stark, have designed a personal alarm for her.'
'Oh do shut up, Stark. If you weren't so full of yourself, you'd realize that she's upset, and wishes for someone to comfort her.'
'So why don't you go?'
'Miss Winters and I are ... not on the best of terms at the moment.'
'What did you do? Set fire to her bed?'
'No, I threw someone off of a skyscraper. In my defence, though, he did deserve it.'
Tony agreed. 'Okay, I'll talk to her, but no touching my stuff, understand?'
'I make no promises, Stark.' And Loki was gone again.
' 'Vannah?'
'What do you want, Lo- Oh, it's you, Tony.'
'Indeed it is. You okay?'
'Yeah, I'm fine, I just didn't sleep well.'
'Nightmares?'
'Yep.'
'I thought they stopped.'
'So did I.'
'What is it with you and Loki, 'Vannah? Do you like him?'
'Yes, I think I do, but not in that way. He listens, and, for someone who tried to subjugate the human race, he's surprisingly sympathetic. Plus, he gives the best cuddles, though if you tell him I said that, I will deny it.' Tony looked aghast.
