About two weeks later, Loki was actually healing properly, and the bruises were genuinely fading. Each day, she would get him to eat a little more, while she rubbed his stomach.

He eventually sat up, and Savannah was so pleased, she hugged him, and didn't let go for a full ten minutes.

Not that Loki minded.

'Good,' she said, 'Now that you're not in excruciating pain, you can tell me exactly why you thought it sensible to have a bath while we were playing a game of hide-and-seek.'

'Sorry,' he said, 'I knew what you were going to do to find me, and I wanted to embarrass you.'

Savannah sighed.

'Honestly, sometimes you're so immature.'

He smiled.

'Are you okay? Can I leave you for a bit?'

'Why?'

'I need to speak to Tony.'

'No.'

'Why not?'

'I don't like him.'

'He doesn't like you.'

'I just don't want you to go.'

'Loki,' she started, 'I know you're protective, but I'll be fine. Steve will be there, and I can defend myself.'

Loki sighed 'Please don't go.'

'Loki, I'll be back soon.'

'Please?'

Savannah looked up, to see the god trying to sit up, and reach for her hand.

'Can he come in here?'

'No.'

'I have to go.'

'Please, stay.' Loki had his best puppy-face on, and Savannah had to turn her back on him.

'I'll be back, Loki, don't worry.'

'Yes, Savannah.'

And Savannah could clearly hear the hurt in Loki's voice.
