Monster

She got up, and walked away from the ledge. She didn't know what was wrong with her, but she hadn't felt this lost in years. It was dangerous, and she was dangerous like this. Incredibly dangerous. She got back into her room, and collected every knife, razor or pair of scissors she could find. And then she threw them away.

Every single one.

Honest.

Except for one.

It was a small dagger, light and slender, but wickedly sharp. She smiled at it. It had potential.

Loki walked in, as Savannah started cutting.

 

'Savannah! No!'

'I can't.' she mumbled. 'Not anymore. It's too much, Loki, I just can't.' She sounded so tired, and her eyes were already starting to close.

She had cut deep, probably an artery, but the amount of blood was disproportionate for the size of the cut. It took a small amount of magic to heal, however.

 

For once, Savannah didn't awake in a hospital bed. Her own bed smelt familiar, of her, and Loki.

Loki.

She sat up straight, only to see Loki glaring at her.

'Good morning,' she grinned.

Loki gave her a look of pure relief, and then bitch-slapped her hard across the face.

That was familiar, too.

Loki was still glaring, and he was shaking with anger.

'How could you, Savannah? How could you be so selfish?'

'I don't know. I don't know anymore. It's too much. Just too much.'

'What? What is too much?'

'Everything. I can't live like this, not for much longer. I'm not meant to live in fear.'

'But why?' Loki sounded betrayed.

'I don't know. Something just snapped. I had to do something.'

'At least you are healed now.'

'Loki, I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. I felt so lost, and scared, and I don't know what to do anymore. I don't know.'

Loki lifted her head up by the chin, so that she was looking directly into his eyes. He narrowed his eyes, suspiciously, and leaned closer.

'Your eyes have changed, mortal. You are mine, now.'

'What?'

Loki morphed into Thanos, but not before he whispered the word into her ear again.

Monster.
