A/N: WARNING- Mentions of defenestration.

Tony, rather rudely, woke them up at approximately two fifty-six the next day, fuming and shouting incomprehensible drabble. He shook Savannah violently, and then turned to Loki, shrieking about defiling people, and taking advantage of them. Loki stood up, and Savannah was aware of how tall he was. He stretched, graceful and cat-like, and she realized that the position he was in must have been quite uncomfortable. She smiled gratefully at Loki before turning to Tony.

'Stark,' Loki said, 'Could this not wait until a less ungodly hour?'

Tony glared at him and grasped Savannah viciously by the wrist, muttering under his breath. Savannah struggled to free herself, hissing in anger as she realized she could not, and turned to Loki, silently asking him for help.

Help? When had she started to rely on Loki for help?

'I recommend that you desist manhandling the lady like that, Stark. It is unbefitting of an Avenger to attack vulnerable young women. Now, if you require my assistance, I shall be here resting.' Tony scowled at him, before roughly escorting Savannah to her room.

'What were you doing with him? Have you lost your mind? What were you thinking? Do you know how dangerous he is? Are you okay? Did he hurt you? What did he say to you? Where have you been? Were you with him all this time?'

'We were talking, no, I wasn't really thinking, yes, yes, no, not much, I did most of the talking, where you found me and yes.' Tony looked unimpressed.

Some people.

'Honestly, Tony, I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition,' Tony glared at her, and opened his mouth to respond, but the answer was not his.

'Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition, my dear.'

Loki.

Standing in the doorway.

When did he get here?

Savannah chuckled.

'I didn't know you watched Monty Python.'

'There's a lot you don't know about me, Miss Winters.'

'Oh, come on, you know my life story and we're still on a last name basis? Shame on you.'

'You told him about your powers?' Tony looked horrified.

'Maybe...'

' 'Vannah, he's killed people.'

'So have I, Tony.' Savannah said it too quietly for Tony to hear, but Loki's godly hearing picked it up and he smiled at her gently.

'That's not the point. He could have hurt you.'

'I can take care of myself, Tony.'

'He threw me out of a window.'

'I don't blame him. Let me sleep, Tony.'

'Fine. But be careful.'

'Pot, kettle, meet my good friend Tony Stark.'

'Just shut up and go to sleep 'Vannah.'

'Yes mummy.' Tony glared, Loki smirked. Gods, he has a sexy smirk. 'Goodnight Loki, 'night Tony,'

'Sweet dreams, pet.' Loki said.

Savannah frowned. Tony had already gone.

Savannah slept uneasily, twisting and moaning, and crying, and screaming, and writhing and whimpering. She was gently shaken awake, and her eyes met a pair of concerned green ones.

'Nightmares?'

Savannah sighed, but nodded. A gentle hand smoothed her forehead, and she felt, rather than saw, Loki climb into her bed.

'What are you doing?'

'You need to sleep, and if you have another nightmare, I will be there to comfort you.'

'Thank you?'

'No need to thank me, little one, it is only because your bed is more comfortable than my own.'

'That's 'cos I didn't try to take over the world.'

He laughed, and Savannah shivered at the sound. It was rich, and deep, but vaguely reassuring. She snuggled (snuggled!) closer to him, and he wrapped his arms around her once more. Fears shooed away by his firm embrace, she fell asleep again, this time sleeping peacefully until the morning.

'JARVIS, where's Loki?'

Sir, Loki appears to be in Miss Winters' bed chambers.

'What? Shit!'

Tony burst upon the two of them, entwined peacefully, in bed, and nearly had an aneurysm. Loki raised his head, while Savannah still slept.

'What are you doing in here?' Tony was fuming again.

'I could ask you the same thing, Stark.'

'What are you doing in her bed?'

'She had a nightmare,'

'What are you doing in her bed?'

'I believe I have just answered that.' Tony growled, an animalistic growl, laden with unspoken threats.

'Jealous, are we?' Loki smirked.

'I don't think I've told you this, but I hate your face.' Loki lifted one perfect eyebrow, and his smirk increased. 'And your smirk, I hate that too.'

Loki sat up then, gently untangling himself from Savannah's arms, (when had they gotten there?) and calmly said -

'Oh? Miss Winters thinks it quite sexy.' Tony looked ready to strangle him, but instead replied, with a voice that sounded hurt-

'She said that?'

'She thought it.'

Tony stormed out, and Loki chuckled, resuming his original position, gently kissing Savannah on the forehead - he knew that Tony was watching him now- and held her tightly, smoothing her hair out before settling back to sleep.

'Loki needs to go.' Tony growled, turning to face the other Avengers, minus Savannah, and fixing them with a look of pure fury.

'Why?' Thor wanted to know.

'Because,' Tony elaborated, 'I don't like him. He threw me out of a window.'

'There's a word for that, you know.' Tony whirled to face Savannah and Loki. Loki continued. 'It is, if I remember correctly, defenestration.'

'Oooh, that sounds dirty!' Tony glared at Savannah. 'What, it does! Loki defenestrated you, Tony!'

'So mature.' Loki deadpanned.

'Shut up, you.' Savannah looked at Tony. 'Why don't you like him?'

'He threw me out of a window.'

'You said.'
