Rain waited to hear Payu's footsteps going away, then he reluctantly walked to the table and picked the spoon off the napkin on the tray. He dipped it into the broth and sipped it. It wasn't anything extraordinary, pretty delicate though. As he finished it, he put everything back onto the tray and opened the door of his bedroom to take that back to the kitchen.
He walked down the empty corridor, reached the stairwell and went downstairs. He tried his best to be as silent as possible, especially after he realized that he had to cross the living room to get to the kitchen. He looked around, wondering where that annoying Mr. Perfect was, and there he found him.
Payu was sitting on an armchair by the open window. The curtains moved slowly because of the light wind outside, the sunlight seemed to caress Payu's delicate yet strong figure. Suddenly a rush of confusion reached Rain's brain, which couldn't understand why he was looking at Payu like that. He was only supposed to find him just to avoid him, not to paint an immortal portrait to remember him.
Rain almost lost the grip on the tray in his hand, nothing fell, but the noise made by the moving dishes made Payu turn immediately to him. Fearing that Rain could still be too weak to hold anything, Payu ran to him and took the tray in his hands.
"Are you alright? You could have just called me, I would have taken that to the kitchen myself"
"I'm not sick..." Rain said under his breath. Payu looked at him pretending he didn't catch what he had just said, as Rain repeated that, he smiled and told him to wait. Payu went to the kitchen and left the tray on the sink. He carefully washed the dishes and then he went back to Rain, who tried to take a look at the phone Payu left on the armchair.
"So, you mean that you feel better, right?" Payu said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"I mean that I was faking it. I didn't want to see you, that's all. It obviously didn't work though..." Rain replied.
"And I suppose you didn't want me around you because of what you told me yesterday"
"You're really as smart as Ple says, Mr. Holmes."
Payu chuckled and walked to the door, he signaled Rain to follow him and they reached the long path that went all around the farm.
"Is there anything I can do to make you feel better, Rain?" Payu asked.
"Yes, stop being so perfect"
"I'm not perfect though"
"You're just saying this because you don't want to sound too arrogant, but you know you are. You have a boyfriend who adores you, a great career ahead of you and you're handsome too" Rain added without looking at him. When he tried to make one more step forward, he hit something, or better... someone.
"So, you think that I'm handsome?" Payu said and leant closer to him.
"I.. I mean that's what everyone repeats!"
"And do you agree?"
"I.. I don't like guys, I don't know..."
"Oh, come on, you don't have to be gay to say if someone is beautiful or not" Payu said as he raised Rain's chin with his index finger, then he looked at him making Rain feel like he was staring into his soul.
