Chapter 44

Rain didn't even look at Payu before replying, he knew that he didn't need a signal to know that his boyfriend was ready to support him. Rain took a sip of the drink Arm offered on a silver tray, then he looked back at Kim slightly smirking, almost as if he wanted to tell him that he wanted to accept his challenge, then he put the glass back onto the coffee table and replied:

"No, fortunately my parents are wealthy enough to afford an apartment near my university. However this means that I get to see them so rarely throughout the year. At least I don't have to work to pay for rent though"

"I wish we can have the opportunity to meet them soon" Porchay added without losing his smile, although he quickly noticed the growing tension between his husband and Payu's boyfriend.

"I really hope so, although I think you may have heard of them. They are entrepreneurs just like you, although they have most of their activities in the south. If you're free, I'm sure that they will be incredibly happy to welcome you in one of their hotels" Rain responded.

The room fell silent, everyone realized that Rain had understood the game and actually revealed the truth without being forced. The members of the family turned to Kim, who seemed quite delighted by the sudden turn of events. Kim was finally smiling genuinely, he stood up and tilted his head a little to the right, then he said:

"I can finally welcome Rain Kirigun Phawattakun to our sweet family" Arm then approached his master and whispered something in his ear. Kim nodded and informed everyone that dinner was ready and they could move to the other room. Rain was surprised to see that something that seemed so overwhelming was suddenly over.

As they get to the table, Rain remarked naively:

"I must thank you for accepting our relationship so easily... I know you didn't trust me at first but I'm sure that..." but Kim quickly interrupted him.

"Oh no, I don't trust you. Why should I trust you? Because you told everyone that you're Tharn and Type's son? Don't be so dumb, kid. You still have a long way to demonstrate that you aren't a threat to this family, although I suppose that if you're so naïve, you can't be that involved in your fathers' business" Kim added.

"Uncle, that's enough" Payu said as he stood up irritated by Kim's comments. Porchay and Porsche were glaring at Kim, knowing that there was no reason to put so much stress on Rain. Pete couldn't help but feel sorry for Rain, and so he was ready to intervene if things got out of control. Macau looked at his older brother and then a sense of guilt filled him as he realized he agreed with Kim's plan to expose Rain.

"Don't be ridiculous, Venice, I won't apologize for saying the truth" Kim responded. Rain looked down as he felt every ounce of courage and confidence getting drained away, he pulled the end of Payu's jacket and whispered:

"Honey, it isn't necessary..."

"Kim, stop it" Porchay whispered.
