"Don't even think about it. You can play as the happy farmer as much as you want... but I'm not going to play with you in this heat" Prapai responded after Payu asked him if he wanted to work in the garden with him. That day the temperature was incredibly hot, the sun was simply implacable, and yet Payu seemed to enjoy some good time in the garden of his family's mansion while his cousin was hiding in the shadow of the porch.
"As you wish" Payu responded smiling and kept cutting a bush to give it a symmetrical shape. Despite pretending he didn't know why Payu was acting like that, Prapai knew the reason very well and actually tended to agree with Payu's new hobby. The first few days after Rain left were like hell, Payu didn't want to leave his room at all and kept writing letters to Rain, letters that he usually gave to Prapai to burn or destroy them.
After that initial period, a sunny morning Payu looked at the garden of the house and decided to work to it to make it his corner of paradise on Earth. That coping mechanism seemed to work well, in a few days Payu looked even more cheerful than when he was with Rain, however his cousin doubted that everything he was seeing was actually the new nature of Venice. Each smile Payu made after finishing a certain task in the garden forced Prapai to remember those letters that he secretly kept.
"Didn't you want to go with Sky this morning? Why did you come here?" Payu asked as he went back to where Prapai was looking at him. There was a small decorated table where Pete put something fresh to drink. Payu drank the beverage and wiped the sweat off his forehead, then he looked back at Prapai, waiting for his answer. His cousin was a little embarrassed to respond, since he carefully avoided everything that could remind Payu of love relationships.
"W...well, he had a lecture early in the morning and so he said that he could go by bus" Prapai replied. Payu shrugged but he accepted that as a possible answer and quickly went back to work with the flowers and plants in the garden. Prapai couldn't know that another drama still related to that seemingly stable situation was unfolding at the university.
"Sky, you're my best friend, so tell me the truth unless you want to lose my trust"
"Oh stop acting so dramatic, you trust anyone... anyway, if you really want to know what happened, I'll tell you. Payu didn't call Som, he called Mark and convinced him to step in. It worked quite well but Payu obviously got depressed, because he surely didn't feel guilty for cheating on Som anymore, but now he felt guilty for making you suffer. That's all" Sky explained.
"I see... well, thank you, but I would have preferred to know about it before meeting Ple, since you already knew everything" Rain responded slightly disappointed and then went to attend the lecture.
Given that Rain already tended to get distracted easily even during his first year, the new twist of events couldn't help but make him even less focused on the teacher, that after trying to make him snap back to reality, decided to give up on such a useless endeavor.
