Chapter 32

"You should be a little more careful when you go out, the weather is a little crazy, you could easily catch a cold" Som said, knowing that if he acted too worried about Payu's current health, his ex-boyfriend would have get defensive and the conversation would have died there. Payu chuckled a little bit and nodded, then he grabbed Som's hand.

"Som, I'm sorry but..."

"But you want to break up. I already knew it. Payu..." Som said and held Payu's hand more tightly, he looked at the door and with a slight movement of his head signaled Rain to come closer, then as he felt that he wasn't about to sob anymore, he finally continued:

"Payu, I only want to see you happy... and if this means that you have to be with someone else, then it is absolutely fine. I know how deeply Rain cares about you, and this only makes it even easier, since you will be in good hands..."

"What about Ple?" Rain asked.

"She's my sister, and although I was mad at her for what she did, I now understand that she only anticipated what was inevitable. Payu and I aren't meant to be together, if it wasn't for Ple's antics, we would have broken up anyway at a later date..."

Rain couldn't believe what Som was saying, while Payu leant closer to hug Som. Som immediately stood up and turned away, as he felt that he couldn't hold back the tears anymore.

"Payu, Rain... I would like to come back in a few weeks, if you agree... but by that time, I only want to see a happy and cheerful couple, is it clear?" Som added and left before even listening to their answer.

After Som left, Vegas went upstairs and stopped Rain, who was walking down the corridor.

"Rain, I was thinking that you could stay here tonight. We would be happy to have you here for dinner" Vegas said with an unusual happy tone. Rain rubbed the back of his head slightly confused, but then he accepted and thanked him a lot for the invitation. Several hours passed and it was finally time for dinner, Rain couldn't be more nervous.

"Oh, Venice, I'm happy that you decided to join us" Pete said relieved as he saw his beloved son looking much better than that same morning.

"Yes, I feel so much better now" Payu replied.

After Pete put the food on the table and they started eating it, Rain felt observed. When he raised his eyes from the plate in front of him, he noticed Pete glaring at him, then he heard a muffled noise (it was actually Vegas kicking Pete from under the table) and Pete immediately changed his expression.

"So, how did you meet my dear Venice?" Pete asked. Vegas sighed annoyed, they already knew the answer and he felt like Pete was doing it on purpose.

"I... I met him during my first date with Ple..." Rain replied shyly.

"I wouldn't call that a date, she never really considered you her boyfriend after all" Payu added, perfectly aware that Pete was asking that only to make Rain look like someone whose purpose was to break couples.
