"Hello there, do you mind if I offer you a drink?" that simple question was the beginning of a new path of pain for Som. He forced himself to be happy after breaking up with Payu, he kept repeating that he had to feel happy because Payu now had someone who truly deserved him. However, no matter how reasonable those ideas could be, Som couldn't help but focus on his own inadequacy, especially for being unable to notice that Payu wasn't living their relationship in a good way.
Everything seemed to change when he met a nice guy at a bar. A tall, athletic guy who was so kind that he offered him something to drink. The more he drank the kinder that guy seemed. At first everything seemed fine, so much that Ple was getting jealous that her brother was getting an opportunity to move on from Payu while she had none. However things rapidly changed after a few days of dating. At first Som didn't really notice it but after a while it became clear that their conversations were following a certain pattern.
"You made the right decision, Som... you two just weren't supposed to be together in the first place. There is no reason to continue a relationship that was meant to fail from the very beginning" Som heard constantly.
"B... but maybe if I acted differently... I was so happy when he accepted my love letter at first that I thought the greatest obstacle was already gone"
"What a stupid thing to say. Why do you think that he accepted you, Som? Because he felt pitiful, and since he had nobody at that moment he agreed to date you..." Stop responded.
"So he just dated me out of pity? Do you really think that there wasn't even the smallest hint of affection towards me?" Som asked.
"Obviously not. To be honest, if Rain wasn't involved, Payu would have stayed with you a little longer, but do you think it would have been better? I mean... why would someone like Payu date a nobody like you? Have you ever posed yourself that question?" Stop asked as he caressed Som's head.
"Well... sometimes..."
"If you really loved him, you would have let him gone way earlier... but you were selfish, honey..."
"Yes... you're right... wait... if I'm a nobody, then why are you dating me? Wouldn't that make you a nobody too?" Som asked in a slight burst of confidence.
"I think I pitied you at first, that's why I approached you at the bar... but then I started to care about you" Stop responded with a smirk.
"Yeah... but..."
"Honey, let's change topic" Stop interrupted him resolutely. That's how all their conversations ended. Som never had the chance to choose when to change topic or what activity to do, it was always Stop. Deep down he knew that a relationship like that wasn't balanced, but a part of his psyche forced him into that relationship where he was more of a servant rather than a boyfriend, as a way to punish himself.
As soon as Ple realized what was going on, she immediately tried to convince Som to stop that relationship, but it obviously didn't work. That's why she asked for Payu's help, because he was the only one who could make him change his mind. She explained everything to Payu and Rain and despite her past actions, she was ready to do whatever was necessary to save her brother from the hell she helped to create.
