Chapter 50

"Well, it isn't important if you're still with Ple or not, your happiness is my only goal" Tharn said smiling as he patted his son's back. Rain's heart melted because of the warmth of that familiar love, however his brain kept reminding him that Payu was in the car and that he deserved a chance. Since Tharn seemed so happy about Rain moving on from Ple, it could be a great opportunity to show that his happiness was possible only because of Payu's kind nature.

"Dad, I must admit that it was very painful at first..."

"It's alright, Rain, I'm so glad that you managed to move on so easily from her"

"This isn't what I wanted to tell you, dad... if I moved on so quickly, it is because I found... someone who accepted me for who I really am. Someone who didn't compare me to anyone else... I found... a boyfriend" Rain finally managed to say.

Tharn couldn't pretend to be surprised, but as soon as he noticed that his reaction was unnatural for such a situation, he realized that he had to change his strategy. He smiled at his son and hugged him tight, so that he couldn't see his face. Then, with the softest voice he could pull out, he started comforting him:

"I know that it may be difficult at first, you may feel like you don't know yourself anymore. But remember that your father is always by your side and that you can ask me anything. After all, I can surely give you more accurate advices when it comes to gay relationships than straight ones" Tharn finished everything with a jokingly tone. Rain laughed a little bit, before his father continued:

"So, who's the lucky guy? How old is he? Is he handsome? Because I only want the most handsome, perfect man for my son"

"He's... waiting downstairs actually. I knew that you would have been supportive, but I wasn't sure if I felt ready to introduce him to you. Do you want to meet him then?" Rain asked. Tharn accepted excitedly. His son quickly pulled out his phone from his pocket and called Payu, who arrived at the apartment in less than a minute.

Tharn examined every move and detail regarding Rain's boyfriend. As soon as Payu entered the living room of the apartment, he saw that he was athletic and handsome indeed, his son had good taste indeed.

"So, this is my boyfriend, Payu... and this is my father, Tharn" Rain said hesitantly.

"Nice to meet you, Payu" Tharn added.

"Nice to meet you too, sir. I want to be honest with you, I know about our families past conflicts and so I'm not going to ask you to trust me... but if you can give me a chance to prove that my feelings for Rain are genuine, I would deeply appreciate it" Payu explained.

"Well, I'm happy that you preferred to tell me that from the beginning, you spared us a very unpleasant conversation, especially with my husband" Tharn replied chucking.

"Nor that he would care about anything involving me..." Rain murmured.

"Payu, I'm sure that we will have many more opportunities to spend time together and know each other, but I'm running out of time at the moment and I would like to talk to my son privately" Tharn added a little annoyed, as he couldn't stand those little comments from his son anymore.
