It's been two days since the drama. If it wasn't for the newfound courage I would not have survived that day. Even though everyone retired to their houses, my father has been taunting me non-stop for everything that happened. Finally today, there will be an end to all this. We are headed to Bhoomi's place.

The only thing I know is that Vijay uncle had called and since then my father's super tensed.

"Tell her to shut her mouth when we go there." My father addressed me indirectly by talking to my mom.

"Don't worry. I won't say anything unless necessary!" I had to mention the condition.

He didn't pay heed to my response and concentrated on driving. It took us 45 minutes to reach her home. When we walked in, the sight wasn't what I'd expected.

Vijay uncle and Amar were deep in discussion while Padma Ajii and Jaya Aunty were consoling a weeping Bhoomika.

Why was she crying? Did Anna say no? If so, what great news!!!

My father instantly made his way to the men and joined their discussion. Me and my mom walked towards Bhoomi. My mom bent down to console and so did I. I didn't say anything, just gently placed my hand on her back.

She must have sensed us because she lifted her face and oh god! It was so red. She was crying, there's no doubt about that.

"It's ok ma. Don't cry over him." My mom said consoling Bhoomika

"Exactly! Naanu adanne heltidini. Avanu sari illa." Padma ajji added.

(Exactly! I'm saying the same thing. He is not right.)

As much as I wanted to correct Padma ajji for generally calling my Anna a bad guy, I controlled my urge.

"Howdu! I know who he is. Good, he said a no." Amar voiced out. Ohhh! So Anna has rejected their proposal. Good!!!

"We have to respect his decision. Now stop crying." Vijay uncle uttered.

"No!! I think you've got it wrong." Bhoomika screamed. "He's been so nice to me and never shied away from talking about plans." She took a pause.

Plans? When did they talk about plans? I doubt they would have talked about any future. But who was I to speak? I'd decided to stay put this time. No more drama.

"He'd mentioned about our family being a vital part of his life. How can he say no?" I could see tears filling her eyes. "It's all because of her!" She snapped at me. "It is always her. Goddammit, can't even find a proper job and here she is snatching potential life partners from people." She snared.

I stood shocked. Bhoomi and I have been friends since childhood, or that I thought. How could she accuse me of such a thing?

I understand she's hurt. But Prajwal is a grown individual capable of making his own decisions. I've never seen in him a romantic way. For the sake of the lord! I call him Anna! Anna which means elder brother. Everyone knows it.
