"Ouch! What was that for!?" I asked her, rubbing the aching area.

"What was that for? What the hell is happening here? You've changed your house, you've changed your surname, you're hanging out with celebrities, you've even changed your family! I called Yukta Aunty just to find out what was going on and she didn't answer at all. What is happening!!!" She uttered all this in one breath.

"Come in, I will tell you everything!"

She walked in with me, we headed to my room. She was in awe looking at the simple yet huge room.

"Before you ask any more questions..." I breathed in, ready to narrate the story. Not the entire one, just the gist. "You know they were looking for a guy for me and Bhoomika, they found Anna. Sorry, Prajwal Gowda for Bhoomi and Aravind Desai for me."

"You called him Anna!" She interrupted me.

"Let me finish! Turns out, Prajwal had a motive to get involved with that family. He wanted to get his sister back home. His sister aka me! Yes, I was adopted, I can't even say adopted. I was taken away by Sagar. He had some argument with Appa and for some sort of twisted revenge, he had taken me away. Prajwal spotted me in London, tracked me down and did all this drama to get me back." I skipped the back story. It would make Sagar the biggest villain. Even though he'd done so much, I didn't want people to vilify him.

"And you agreed. How could you? They have taken care of you for 25 years! I agree, they haven't been the best but you know what I mean..." she questioned back.

"Yes, I know. But like people say blood always finds its way home."

"Did you not doubt them? What if they are using you?" She was concerned which was understandable.

"No! Have you seen my mother? One glance at her picture and you'll know I'm her daughter!" I replied.

I showed her Amma's picture and she ping-ponged between the picture and my face. Handing over my phone, she admitted to the facts.

"So, now you have no ties with your old family?"

"Not entirely, I mean, I don't want to cut ties with everyone, but in the current situation, yes, I have no ties with the old family," I admitted. As much as I didn't care about what they thought, a part of me felt connected to them.

"I know this is a weird question, but do you regret leaving them?"

"No!" I replied blatantly. I might have come out a bit rude too.

"What!? I respect your decision, but 25 years is a long time! You didn't have any bond with anyone?" What is with all these questions?

"I mean, I did! With my mom, Yukta and Amar, even Bhoomika to be honest. I had a bond with everyone. Twisted, good, bad, whatever it was. In the end, they aren't my family. This is my family. This is my home."
