Noel Gallagher explores the topic of friendship with former bandmate Valia Mick, and the bassist' relationship with Liam Gallagher in 1995

What was your friendship like with Mick?

"As good as it gets, I suppose. Besides me and the other fella, she was the only original member standing. She's something, that girl. I don't know what it is but she keeps us on our toes. She's like a sister to me, which is interesting because my mum always loved the idea of her being a part of the family. When Val and r'kid first started dating it was like a dream come through for her, you know."

Speaking of, how did their relationship in 1995 affect the group?

"They're horny fuckers them. Got it on in the studio more times than I could count. Yeah, fucking vile."

"You can ask anyone from that time, and they'll tell you that the other fella was at his best. Don't know how Val did it but she got him to be fucking serious for once, and he listened to her like a damn dog. They called him that, you know? Yeah, called him Val's little dog, fucking hilarious that. She tells him to stop talking and he does! Sit down! The fella fucking sits. Tell him to behave and he fucking sulks in the corner of the room. Incredible pet owner,  our Val."

"That was good for the band, having Liam take things seriously. That was why we were able to do so well with Morning Glory. We were at our peak between '95 and '96. All thanks to Val."

And then Patsy Kensit and Damon Albarn came into the picture. What then?

"Well what do you fucking think? We were in shambles, scandals and feud and drama everywhere. It was like Hollywood hell."

"We were back to square one. Those two couldn't stand each other. And I couldn't stand that fella either. Yes fucking Liam, couldn't look at him without wanting to break his jaw."

What did you think about Damon Albarn?

"Look. He's a chill geezer, I like him. But things worked differently back then. That was the game. I didn't like seeing him around and messing with the people I love and the band."

And Patsy Kensit?

"I won't talk about her."

"No. Don't bother. I promised to never talk about her."

"Who do you think I promised mate? Course not Liam."
