The night of the BRIT awards, Graham managed to get the Oasis girl back to his place safely, insisting that she could sleep in his bed while he took the couch.
And in spite of how warm and comfortable she was in his sheets, Val couldn't help but stay wide awake. The ecstasy in her system made no attempts of fuzzing away, she was also particularly preoccupied by the thought of her pretty boyfriend, Damon Albarn, who she had caught together with Justine. They were simply just talking, but with the history of being cheated on, she hadn't realised just how much it affected her ability to trust her partners, even when she believed that he would never hurt her in such a way.
She wasn't entirely sure how or when she had dozed off to sleep, because throughout the night, Graham was on the phone with someone (though he tried his best to be as quiet as possible, not wanting to wake up the girl). Val was woken up the next morning by the muffled sounds of the television, as well as the voices of Graham conversing with someone else, this time however, it was not into a phone.
The bassist made her way out of Gra's bedroom, seeing two guys sitting on the couch, one of them being a blond, staring ahead at the screen. They flung their heads towards her direction, taking note that she was finally awake.
"Val." Damon said with a heavy chest, standing abruptly and approaching her. He grabbed one side of her face, placing a tender kiss on her other cheek. "Why didn't you come back to mine?"
Alex and Dave made it their honours to tell him that she had seen him together with Justine Frischmann, and how it made her slump dishearteningly. It just didn't make any sense to him. How was he not allowed to converse with Justine, yet Val was sneaking off with Liam Gallagher?
She didn't say anything, instead just letting him stroke her skin, before pulling herself away and heading into the kitchen, a quiet morning mumbled over to Graham, who smiled tiredly at her. It was evident that everyone was still worn out from last night. "Who were you calling late at night?" Val asked, ignoring the fact that Damon had followed her into the kitchen. She searched Gra's fridge for some cold plain water, feeling utterly dehydrated.
"Mm?" The Blur guitarist hummed, glancing over at her, seemingly wondering what to say. "Just a friend."
"Val, love. Damon interrupted, as the girl took a sip out of her water. "Can we talk?"
Valia looked past her boyfriend. "Do I know them?" She questioned the other boy. She knew it was childish for her behave the way she did, but talking about it would only spike her anxiety, and that was the last thing she wanted that morning.
Graham sat uncomfortably in the living room, not liking that he was being pulled into the couple's problem. It was bad enough that things between him and Damon were tensed, all thanks to when Gra and Alex decided not to show up for a lip sync show they had to do for some Italian TV a week ago. In all fairness, he was going through a rather complicated time. Blur was suddenly being portrayed as a loser of the two bands, now that Oasis was a worldwide sensation. It ticked him off terribly, because back when Blur dominated the industry, everyone treated them like they were some puppet, getting them to do shit they never wanted to do, as though they weren't humans.
