When Country House kicked Roll With It down by a landslide, Liam and Noel Gallagher went on an outrage.
Liam couldn't comprehend the idea of Blur knocking them down, he was convinced that Oasis had the win in the palm of their hands. And he was furious at the ending results, picking fights with his girlfriend, and slagging off Damon Albarn to the best of his abilities.
Noel wasn't any different, it irritated Valia Mick beyond her wildest imaginations — the brothers were persistently going off at her for being in such close proximity with the boys from Blur, stating that she was turning her back against the band. Well, Liam, for the most part. The older Gallagher attempted to keep his cool whenever he could, simply because the thought of getting angry at the bassist always seemed immoral to him. That, however, didn't change the fact that he was ultimately disappointed in her for being involved with Damon Albarn previously.
It was then time for Top Of The Pops, where the two bands were set to perform their new singles. Valia dreaded the day, afraid of what would happen when her boyfriend and Damon bumped into each other. But Liam Gallagher was indisputably high, even more than usual, and that brought out a cheery mood in him. Even when in face with the Blur frontman.
Well, in fact, they were all a little dozed up. Forget the little, they had gone wild on the drugs. The whole of the band was in a too good of a mood to do anything that could sabotage it.
Prior to Oasis' performance on TOTP, the stage was occupied by the number one Blur. Where Alex James had showed up with an Oasis shirt, surely as a sarcastic dig towards the band, since it was them who had won the battle.
The Gallagher brothers and Val would then boast around to the crowd that the Blur bassist was simply just a massive fan of them, seemingly taking the piss even further when the trio barged into their performance on the stage — a black marker in hand as they surrounded Alex, picking at his top and scribbling their signatures on it, smothering the Blur bassist with kisses on his face, and then running off backstage.
This left the performing band with a confounded, yet uncontrollable laughter as they tried their best to keep up with their own show.
But the whole night became a pissing game towards the event. Graham Coxon shoved a pound note in his guitar strings , so as to announce to the whole world that the band was in fact miming, and not performing live.
Then soon after, Oasis were huddled up on the stage, with both Noel and Liam hiding behind a small field of fake Sunflowers. Valia held in a laugh as her boyfriend profusely shook the artificial flower behind Damon Albarn.
"And then we have a classic day special with those five pretty boys from Manchester." The blond boy gripped onto the microphone, talking into the camera with a wide grin.
