"I want to take Wonderwall off."
Noel blinked, widely shocked at the statement, searching around the room to see if everyone was going through the same grief he was. "Are you serious?"
"I'm serious. I want it off." Val said, not leaving any room for arguments. "I'm not releasing that song to the whole fucking world. Wipe it off."
Alan McGee seemed to disagree. "It's a track we have our eyes set on, Mick."
She stared at him. "I don't give a fuck if you think it's going to be a major success. I wrote it, and I'm telling you to scrape it."
Bonehead and White decided to stay out of it, not that they were ever involved in many team decisions anyway. And they didn't want to find themselves in a cross fire.
"I think you'd like to know that you should give a fuck about my opinion." McGee told her back, looking ahead at her sternly.
They were in a studio building in Manchester, and their upcoming album was in its final stages. All it needed was the last and final touches, and a name for all its glory. And Liam Gallagher was nowhere to be found.
It had been almost over a month since he had gotten himself engaged to Patsy Kensit, and the relationship between him and the Oasis bassist was undeniably over.
Liam arrived back in Manchester, showing up at her residence, only to find that she had thrown out all of his belonging. And that Damon Albarn was somewhere cooped inside with Noel Gallagher and Meg Matthews. It should be made clear that Liam was furious by the situation — that his own brother was turning his back on him, and that his biggest rival in the entirety of the world was in the same house as them.
Val and Liam was yet to speak with each other, but they knew once and for all that their relationship has gone down the drain, never to be pulled back up again. There was no going back after what happened, and the frontman acknowledged that the second he had proposed to Patsy Kensit. In all honesty, it was all done out of pettiness. There wasn't much interest and love with her, like how things were with Mick — but seeing all the sentiments she had towards Damon Albarn blew a fuse in him that was unable to be fixed, and he wanted to hurt her as much as she had hurt him.
And that was why Liam Gallagher did what he did. He resigned to the fact that his fate with her was going to be cut short, but at that moment he was absolutely blinded by it all, and was only determined on fucking her life over.
It was why he gave Patsy Kensit the ring. Why he ensured that the paps caught on to it. He made sure that his fiancée announced their fatal romance to the whole world. It was true, that he and Patsy talked about a future, kids, families, and things that were beyond their control and imagination. But that was only because he couldn't do so with Val, she held strongly on enabling the future to speak for itself. Just because he had spoken about those things with Patsy, it didn't mean that he had meant it all. But as the pettiness and blood splashed over him, he was convinced to let it all seem real.
