Mel Davies talks about song 'Fade Into You' and split with Graham Coxon
Fade Into you is just such a heartbreaking song. It's most definitely different from the band's usual work. What was the thought process behind it all?
"I don't think there really was one if i'm honest."
"I just came out with the lyrics, vomited it out, and we just started producing them. We knew it didn't suit our typical sounds so we switched them up."
"And good thing we did, because it's our best work yet."
You said before that the song was written just shortly after your split with Graham Coxon. Just how much did he have to do with the lyrics?
"Everything."
"It's about him, and how our relationship faded away."
