Chapter 39

She noticed he was now running towards her, their bodies colliding, their lips attached instantly.

"I thought something happened to you why didn't you answer your phone?" He grabbed her face, looking into her eyes.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left, I'm so sorry," She kissed him again, and he put his forehead on hers.

"Don't ever do that again," He gave her a small smile and she returned it.

"I'm sorry," She replied, kissing him once more.

The two walked together into the house, both soaked.

"Where were you?" He asked, taking his soaked shirt off, and throwing it into a laundry basket.

"I, uhm, went to my brother's," She took her shirt and bra off, throwing a hoodie on.

"Really? I'm surprised you actually went," He watched her the entire time she changed.

"So, uhm, so was I," she looked at him.

"How did that go?"

"It was weird, I didn't like it but I didn't hate it, I felt really out of place," She gave him a small smile.

"We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," He smiled at her, kissing her forehead.

"Thank you," She smiled, then attached her lips to his.

She went into the living room, turned on the TV and Rafe was in the kitchen, talking to her.

"I got groceries delivered here."

"Oh, good," She turned around and smiled at him.

He came into the living room and sat next to her on the couch, so she leaned into him. The two watched TV with each other, but her brain wasn't in the moment. She still was going through a lot at the moment.

"How do you keep yourself from going absolutely off the rails?" She asked him randomly and he rubbed her arm.

"You," He replied bluntly and she smiled to herself.

"You know that nothing you did made me leave, right?" She asked.

"Yeah, I know," He kissed the top of her head, his eyes not leaving the TV, "I'm sorry we fought."

"It wasn't your fault, I was overreacting, you were just trying to look out for me," She started playing with his fingers.

"I love you," He said, causing her eyes to widen.

"What-"

"Nothing," He quickly said, and slightly moved her so he could get up.

"No you- where are you going?" She asked, watching him leave the room.

"Bathroom," He yelled down the hallway and she sat there, her jaw slightly dropped.

He didn't come out for a while, causing Raven to kind of freak out a little bit. She sat there trying to focus on the TV and he finally came back into the room, saying nothing. He sat back down on the couch, pulling her close to him, still not speaking.

"Are you going to-"

"No," He replied cutting her off, and she just raised her eyebrows.

Maybe she imagined it, maybe she thought he said it but she didn't. She shook the thought from her head and started to fall asleep because of how comfortable she was with him. The two slept on the couch for two hours, in each other's arms, comfortable. Rafe dreamt of her, he meant what he said, but he panicked so he wanted to avoid it. He loved her, he loved her more than anything in this universe. He slowly started to wake up and went into the kitchen, to start to make dinner for him and Raven.

"What're you doing?" Raven stood in the doorway of the kitchen, rubbing her eyes.

"Making dinner," He smiled at her.

"Can I help?" She came into the kitchen, standing next to him, "We can make it together."

"Yeah, grab a knife, cut those for me," He handed her a pepper and she started to cut it.

"Shocked you're trusting me with a knife," She smirked and started pretending to stab him.

"I can stop you before you do anything to me," He smiled, grabbing it from her, his arm slightly around her neck.

"We're not making dinner," Raven turned around, attaching her lips to his, smiling into the kiss.

"I'm fine with that, would rather have you anyway," He picked her up, her legs wrapping around his waist and her fingers tangling in his hair.

"Do I fuck you in the kitchen or the bedroom?" He whispered, causing Raven to smirk.

"Both," She reconnected their lips like she was starving.

He walked up to the wall so that her back was up against it, supporting her, smiling at the girl, slightly grinding on her. A knock sounded at the door and they both froze, not knowing who it was.

"Hold on, be quiet," Rafe put a finger to his lips and walked towards the door.

He looked out the window and saw Sarah standing there letting out a sigh of relief.

"It's just Sarah," Rafe looked over at his girlfriend and she grinned.

"Oh my god!" She ran over to the door and whipped it open.

"Oh thank God, you're alive," Sarah let out a sigh of relief and threw her arms around her best friend, Raven returning the hug even tighter.

"I'm alive, I'm okay," She smiled at Sarah, and then Sarah looked at Rafe.

"So we have a SLIGHT problem," Sarah sighed, and Rafe started to get nervous.

"What?"

"Dad knows Raven's with you, and he is not happy about it," Sarah sighed.

"What do you mean?" Raven cocked an eyebrow.

"He knows you're not at the house, he knows you're with Rafe, one of his mainland friends saw the two of you together the other day," Sarah looked at Raven, and Raven's heart fell to her toes.

"So what does he expect, her to go back? She's not going to unless she wants to," Rafe leaned up against the wall behind him.

"I know, I'm still not sure what happened but like you told me, to not worry about it and I trust you, I just want you to be okay-" Sarah sighed.

"Yeah I am, especially since I'm here," Raven smiled.

"Amazing, I gotta run, I left my phone about two blocks away so dad couldn't track me here, I love you both so much," She hugged the both of them and left quickly, running down the street.

"Where were we?" Rafe walked over to Raven and lightly cupped her face, kissing her.

"Mmm, yeah, we were just about there," She smiled at him and their lips locked again, "I love you."
