⚜️ Aden ⚜️

I didn't know the Razons were this wealthy. Sure, everyone knows they're rich, but not like this rich.

Who would've thought Kendrick Razon is a billionaire?

And he's not arrogant. If you look at him, he's like any normal rich kid. Based on how he talks and treats people, he's well-mannered and down-to-earth. Not the usual entitled billionaire brat. Most guys like him would be total jerks just like someone I know.

Kendrick could be a good friend. He's even willing to help us get those rebels behind bars.

While we were finishing our pizza, I noticed Keelan trailing off. Something was clearly on his mind.

"Ang lalim ng iniisip mo. Spill that sh*t, Captain Arellano," I said.

Medyo inaantok na rin ako. I just wanted to go home and sleep.

"He's right, Keelan. What's the plan?" Kendrick asked.

He turned to me.

"Kaya mo bang magpuslit ng drugs sa JMC?" he asked directly.

"Depends. What kind of drug are we talking about?"

"I need something strong, Doc Aden. Something that can make a person fall dead asleep."

"Sleeping pills? I have plenty here," Kendrick suggested.

"Mas matapang pa dun, Ken," Keelan said.

"Let me get this straight you want me to get a drug that can make a person sleep for a long time?"

"Exactly. Can you do it, Doc?"

"Of course. I can prescribe those drugs easily. But if I get caught, I might lose my license... or worse, get fired."

This is serious. If Sir Javier knew about this, I could lose everything. I cannot afford to screw this up.

Bawal akong magkamali sa JMC. From the start of my life, I've always been a mistake—the CEO's illegitimate son. A child born outside his perfect marriage. I can't break his trust. I can't risk my career.

"Don't worry, Aden. You won't get fired. I got you, bro," Kendrick reassured me.

"How? You don't own JMC, Kendrick. You don't know my boss. He won't give me another chance once I make a mistake."

"Hindi mo kayang gawin?" Keelan asked.

"I can help with other stuff, just not this."

"I'll just ask Alia's help then," Keelan said.

"No! Too dangerous for her. She can't lose her job. She's providing for her family, Keelan. You can't ask this of her."

"No one will get fired because we own JMC, Aden!" Kendrick interjected.

"How? JMC is owned by The Javier, Kendrick not you."

"That was before. The Razons owned 70% of Javier Medical Center, so technically we still own it. No one will get fired. Chill, man."

"If you can't do it, I will. Just tell me what drug I need. I'll get it from the pharmacy at JMC. I just need the details so I won't get caught." Keelan.

"What exactly are you trying to do, Keelan?"

"Drug the rebels and rescue the hostages."

"How many hostages are we talking about?" I asked.

"Hindi ko alam more than 30. May mga bata dun, Aden. I can't just rush in and shoot Cobra. That's why I came up with this plan," Keelan explained.

"To lessen casualties and rescue the hostages safely," Kendrick added.

"Fine. I'll do it. I'll get the drugs, Keelan."

"Thank you, Doc Aden. I can't do this alone."

"Why are you alone anyway? Don't you have a group, a platoon, or something? Why are you fighting these rebels alone?" Kendrick asked.

"I have no one I can trust in Gubatnon, Kendrick. Lahat dun political officials, police, soldiers controlled by the governor. They're all on the rebels' side," Keelan explained.

"And you're going to rescue everyone by yourself? You're not Superman, Keelan. You're not bulletproof."

"I have a plan. And besides, they won't fight back if they're asleep," he said.

"That's not fair, Captain," Kendrick said.

"Hindi sila lumalaban ng patas, Kendrick. I'm just playing their own game," Keelan replied.

"I hope you succeed, Captain. Gubatnon deserves to be free. It's a beautiful place, yet dangerously dark." Kendrick.

"I will succeed. Life will return to normal for the people there... and Bella will be safe."

I prepared to leave, heading back to JMC. Kendrick tried to insist on coming along.

Keelan stayed at the penthouse, resting a little.

"You can't get involved with this, Kendrick. Your grandfather will kill you."

"Come on, Doc. No one will question if I'm the one buying the prescription drugs. You'll get them, I'll pay. Easy."

"Yeah, right. What if your grandfather finds out?"

"He's a busy man. I haven't seen him in five years. He's in the U.S., managing our businesses."

"You already own too many businesses. Isn't your family rich enough?"

"Exactly. My family lives for money and business. Everything else is secondary."

"You're lucky your family is proud of you."

"Why? Aren't your family proud of you, Doc? You're the most successful doctor in JMC. They should be proud."

Tss. Whatever I achieve in life, it'll never erase the fact that I'm the unplanned child.

Being the "anak sa labas" sucks. You have to be perfect. No mistakes allowed.

I just hope this mission doesn't end badly...

Because if it does, I'm pretty sure I'll end up on the street. And my so-called father will never spare me.
