I like shiny things but I'd marry you with paper rings...

A hand was pressed on my thigh and I jolted awake. I was sitting with Gavino in our car and Paper Rings by Taylor Swift was blasting through the speakers.

We were on our way to this spa resort in Madrid where we were going to spend a few days with Nora and Christian so they could bond.

We had already driven two hours and I had fallen asleep the first twenty minutes into the ride. Christian and Nora were sitting in the backseat quietly.

I looked over at Gavino and he smiled softly at me. "We need to stop and eat somewhere, where would you like to eat?" he asked and I groaned.

He chuckled softly and I shot him a glare. "You woke me up to ask me that. Why couldn't you guys decide, you know what I like?" I shot back.

"It was dead silent in the car when I asked that question and you would complain no matter what I picked so I figured that you could chose," Gavino explained and I rolled my eyes.

"Do you guys like sushi?" I questioned and both of them nodded. "Then I pick the closest sushi place."

Gavino drove us to the restaurant and like the gentlemen he is, he helped me out of the car. I smiled at him and he wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pressed a kiss on my head.

We walked inside and Nora and Christian came in behind us without a word. "Did they talk on the ride over here at all?" I asked Gavino and he shook his head.

"Nope, the only thing making it less awkward was your music but they didn't say a word. Even when I asked them questions," Gavino answered and I sighed.

"We have a lot of work to do."

We ordered sushi and then sat down at a booth with them. "So, what's new?" I questioned and the table was silent.

"Has something happened?" Gavino asked and Nora sighed.

"She told my father about everything with Denise," Christian broke the silence and Nora rolled her eyes.

I widened my eyes and looked over at Gavino.

"How'd he take it?" My question seemed to annoy Nora even more but Christian seemed sad.

"We have to live with each other now. It's our parents solution for our problems, they even bought us a house," Christian said and I frowned. That's not what I had expected him to say.

"Okay, then I guess we have a new situation to figure out," I replied and Nora scoffed.

"There's nothing to figure out. I'll have my half and he will have his," Nora told us and Gavino frowned.

"I don't think that's a good idea, you need to learn how to tolerate each other. You're going to be getting married in a few years," Gavino explained and Nora sighed.
