"Are you going to keep scowling in the mirror or are you going to finish getting dressed?"
Lyris turned to meet her fathers eyes, knowing she'd done her hardest to have avoided him after greeting the Renegades. Handy even dated yet speak to the man who had separated her from earth. A true home.
Seeing Adeline and Issac's faces once more had sent her down a series of plans and ideas she could use. Something that would allow her to go back to earth and the the home she had created back there. She didn't fit in here, but in Earth she had.
At least there she had friends and people she considered family toward her. Vestrea was a hell hole of a wonderland where everything went wrong for her. Good memories always seemed to come when she thought of earth.
But those plans also were half planned. She saw the look in Issac's eyes, knowing he probably thought she was fine and prefect where she was at the moment. After two years of no contact, she didn't blame him for feeling that way.
She'd already plagued Issac with their goodbye. Her small peck on the lips had sent him into a stage of unknowing, but Lyris knew she probably wanted him to just be her friend at the moment. But that didn't stop the butterflies when she saw him again.
"Perhaps you could give me regards to their majesty's?" Lyris spoke up.
Samuel Hawkins tried his best not to sigh in agitation. Instead he stood calmly by the door way of his daughters room. Examine the choice of a red dress on her body, her dark hair laid onto one side of her shoulders.
His brown leather suit was pinned with a golden stag symbol, one he had been given by Senator Aimee. His beard had been shaven to a point of which was considered a very clean look, his long hair hung to his neck.
His sword on his belt lightly jolted when he moved closer to his daughter. He wasn't too pleased what had happened during the greeting, but not many people had noticed anyway. But explaining such a thing to the Empress and Emperor would be hectic.
"That doesn't sound like something a duchess would say." A smile flitting across his face, trying to make things less intense.
"I'm not going to be anything if Vestrea doesn't accept me the way I am."
"This again?" Samuel sighed.
"Yes, this again," Lyris said, not bothering to hide her frustration, "I can and will not pretend that I never knew Issac and Adeline! They were the only friends I hade back home! You can't just simply forget somehow who loved you like you were part of that family.
And as far as I can tell, I'm obviously not welcome. Not even if I'm some stupid candidate for a prince's bride. Can't you accept the fact that I don't belong here?"
"This is our home!" Samuel argued, "I did that all for us. I kept you safe."
"Us?!? US?!? If it was about us then you wouldn't have ignored me for half the time we got back here or have shot me down after arguments! What will it take to show I don't want to be here?!?? This Us must be because you blame yourself for the birth mother I never knew!!"
