"Ah! Kruge!"
Kruge smiled as a man seated at a fine dining table greeted him. Sitting up to get onto his feet the old man walked over to greet his guests. The southern accent coming through just like old times.
K'Ehlyer and Chang stood by his side in silence. Allowing their leader to get their old ally to agree to give Kruge what he was looking for. Something Kruge thought would win him a few dozen battles.
Kor was left outside the doors with Arik's guards. A symbol of protection to the Klingons if anything went wrong. They had no wishes to lose this early in the war.
"Arik Soong," Kruge smiled as he shook the man's hand.
"I wasn't expecting a visit from you anytime soon," Arik chuckled, "You've started war so soon before I did? Sit please sit down! You must be famished!"
The old man gestured towards the table that was piled with fine silverware and red fruits. The air strung with the smell of heavily smothered spiced up meat. Everything looked decorated out to support Klingon culture.
Arik had become a new ally of the Klingon Empire through Kruge's expertise. Through careful planning, he'd been able to earn the trust of such a powerful man. Earning all sorts of weapons and equipment they desperately needed.
The three took their seats, opposite and nowhere near Arik's head of the table. The man always had to be in control of the situation. The king of his table and how the world functioned around him.
Their plates were plated with slabs of meat and vegetables. Thin slices of crisp bread rested on the edges of the basket of different breads. Everything feeling so ancient and well preserved towards Klingon culture.
"It is very nice to you to allow us to join you this evening," Kruge told him.
"You are an old friend, Kruge. I couldn't pass up the opportunity," Arik answered, "Besides the wars a month in already! Though......I suppose you've asked or at least come for my help."
"Correct, sir," K'Ehyler answered, carefully cutting her piece of meat, "We feel that with our current losing streak that you could supply us with your knowledge."
"I maybe able to," Arik answered.
He grabbed two large metal mugs off a pitch black wooden table. The familiar sound of an alcoholic drink slowly sloshing around in the mug. The scent of wine filled Chang's lungs as he realized as soon as they'd dunk was placed in front of him.
Bloodwine.
"We'd also like to inform you why we are.........missing the advantage, sir," Chang added.
"Do tell!" Arik smiled as he placed his and Kruge's drink onto the table, "I'm all ears my dear friends."
"Starfleet has partnered up with an old friend of yours," Kruge slotted a piece of meat into his mouth after he finished speaking.
