"Anything?" Pike asked Hale from across the room of the library. He waited patiently looking at the stacks of files and datapads they'd already searched for even a piece of a traitor. Even two coffee mugs from both of them  from how early they started.

Roosevelt had shipped them out to England for now to search for clues. Hale's homeland and Starfleet's archives in all the officers they've had over the years. Granting access even into the archives library.

The sun was high and shining happily down onto the buildings below. Not even a trace of a cloud in sight. It was a perfect day, but not really a good time for one.

Pike felt very much to the brink of overworked. He had been at this for days on end with Hale, who was always scanning for more information. His eyes had gotten dark bags from the amount of sleep he'd lost over the days.

"Nothing much," Hale reappeared, carrying instead their lunches for the day, "But is our lunch break right now. Well it started fifteen minutes ago, but we were overworking like usual."

From what it looked like, they looked like Cornish Pasties with a side of potatoes. Pike should've known that She was probably going to introduce him to another British meal. Though he decided to be polite and not even complain.

Hale set the plates down that had managed to save room for a fork and a knife. Her dark blonde hair curled tied into a pony with a few strands dangling beside her ears. Before she pulled up her seat and gestured for him to start eating as well.

"Replicator?" Pike asked.

"No, actually it came from the Moriarty Diner across from the library. I ordered these dishes just an hour ago," Hale answered with a slight smile as she poked her fork into the steaming potatoes, "You find anything interesting?"

"No, not really. Everyone seems pretty clean to me. I didn't see anything bad or an account that could make a higher ranking officer," Pike told taking a bite of the potatoes, "And  the food's still quite warm, you must be a good food delivery person."

Hale chuckled, "I just didn't want them to be colder than Delta Vega."

Pike found himself quite enjoying the dish Hale picked up for the both of them. She was a very sweet person, very talented in linguistics, and loved old fashioned cars. He found that quite interesting about her.

The only thing he didn't quite like was that she had fallen in love with Harry Mudd. He'd seen Mudd's record, even if it was getting cleaned, he still had damaged a few things. But he didn't want to be rude and just say that directly to her face.

Straight up calling Mudd a terrible person could easily divide their partnership for this assignment. He was already trying so hard not to even mention her husband. He found himself shoveling food, so he wouldn't even say a word about Mudd.
