"Attention!" Callius looked at the tired group as he counted everyone there. Not only was it extremely early in the morning and the stars were still drawn out over earth. Pinpricked white lights blinking through the window as Callius stared at his sleepy and exhausted crew.
Cauis founding himself yawning, almost uncontrollably after seeing Alejandro yawn first. Mason had somehow managed to get a small mug of coffee made, bags evident under his eyes. Adeline was hugging her legs close to her chest, trying to keep warm in her fuzzy socks and robe.
Elsa and Issac were exchanging a few Pocky sticks as energy. Callius took note that the two must've been up by the looks of their wide open eyes. Sleep not creasing the lid of their eyes. Everyone looked like vampires in the light.
Somehow Callius was the only to seem well pressed in his suit and looked already cleaned up for the day. His suit looked like it had just been crisped by an iron. His exporession stern and confident looking as always.
"We've been assigned to our very first mission ever. This is not a test run! And I will repeat, this is not a test run!" Callius told the group.
"Our first mission?!? Marcus is allowing us?!?" Alejandro hid back a gasp.
He had every right to be shocked at this news. Marcus hadn't been keen on letting the renegades go on their first mission so soon. He had waned to be sure that these people were fully capable of protecting others.
The group couldn't count at what time Marcus wasn't monitoring Alejandro practicing his piloting skills. Watching as Cauis and Adeline cracked codes and created new weapons for the group to test. Taking note of Issac and Mason's skills in strength and weaponry evolved. As well as keeping a careful eye on Elsa's powers.
"He monitored your training over the years and is giving us a simple job. To bodyguard and protect one planet off of a species," Callius told them, "We are going to be taking one of the federations ships and piloting it there. Marcus is making Captain Pike keep us under check and we'll monitored."
The group listened intently, hearing every word he said. The sound of their first mission, excited them, immensely. Imaging the possibilities of what planet they could be landing on.
But Elsa knew that tone from Callius. Something about his words were hiding a few lies to the news he was giving them. Her suspicions growing as he answered others questions.
"What weapons are allowed?" Mason asked.
"Phasers that are set to stun and a sword. No killing the enemy," Callius answered.
"How many days are we going to be there?" Cauis asked
"At least a week," Callius answered.
"What planet?" Issac asked.
"It's a surprise," Callius managed from his mouth.
"A surprise? Really muscles?" Elsa cocked an eyebrow.
