When the humans left the throne room, Maxim & Q'inde were waiting.
Their expressions were so dismal, Alex immediately asked, "What's wrong?"
Maxim answered. "Listen... I know I've never been a- um, good being. I- we- don't have any intention of... selling you to the king. There was never actually a bounty for humans. I doubt that so called do-gooder would even-"
Q'inde interrupted him, taking Aurelia's hands. "We frightened & took advantage of you. You are remarkable beings, little humans. Consider us your protectors henceforth."
"Thank you," Aurelia said sincerely.
Alex smirked. "About time you said it."
