Rattled after the incident with King Baltazar, Maxim dragged Alexan to the training grounds just before first light. He persuaded Yukina to meet them.
"I'll not go easy on you, human," she warned.
"Good," Maxim nodded, watching on from the sides.
Alexan scowled at him and readied her sword. "I have new spells to practice today. I hope you're awake enough to counter them."
Yukina crouched into position, and they began sparring. Their dance was so in sync, their smug grins made a certain drahke jealous~
