(Last episode and you guys finally get to meet your mom in this book!)

I watched as Ben, as Wildvine, tossed back the villain of the day. A man dress in blue, who strikingly reminded me of a comic book hero with his cape that looked like wings and beak covered head. Standing beside Gwen in the level below, we watched on in boredom as he pulled up his wrist, where a ringing and voice could be faintly heard.

"Got my talons full with some giant root!" The blue-masked villain hissed into his receiver.

"Root? Get a clue, dude. I'm a vine." Wildvine spat. He lashed out with a punch, his vined forming together in a fist to deal more damage. Another hit and he came tumbling down to Gwen's and I's level.

"Want first swing?" I asked the magician beside me.

She grinned, green eyes twinkling with mischief. "Don't mind if I do." Raising her hands, she chanted a spell. Metal wires came to life, lashing out and trapping the villain till the point he couldn't move.

"Great job!" I cheered, offering a hand.

Gwen completed the high-five with a smile. "Now since my dork of a cousin has already left to deal with the leader, what about a race to the common area?"

"Oh, you are so on!" I shouted, racing forward.

Gwen followed hot on my heels, but it wasn't enough as I reach the room filled with passengers first, laughing as Grandpa Max joined us and Wildvine swung down from on top of the blimp.

The entire ride had been fine until the masked group of pigeons took over. But, I would be lying if I didn't admit that it was a little fun to kick bad guy butt.

Ben's voice, high-pitched with excitement, caught my attention. I looked up as he leaned towards his Grandfather with a smile. "Grandpa, what can we do next?"

"Get you to school, Ben. Summer's over." came the surprising and horrifying answer.

----------------------------------------------

"Aw, man, can't this thing go any slower?" Ben groaned from his seat beside me in the Rust Bucket.

I nodded, laying my head back on the table with a small groan. "I don't want to go back to hiding my powers." The thought of it sent a shiver up my spine, but there was nothing I could do about it. Mother had already turned down my begging for homeschooling.

Though, the thought of seeing Mom again did excite me.

"If we go any slower, we'll miss the first day of school." Gwen cut off our whining, glaring over the top of her laptop.

"Duh! That's the point, brainiac." Ben spat.

Grandpa Max called back from the driver's seat. "Don't want the summer to end, kids?"

"Yes!" I exclaimed, "So, maybe turn around. I think I heard a criminal breaking into a store up the road."

"Yeah!" Ben joined in.

But Grandpa Max just laughed in response, not even taking us seriously.

Groaning, Ben tried another tactic. "So, we don't want to go back to our normal, boring life in total normal, boring Bellwood. What's the harm in that? We're heroes now!"

"Normal sounds pretty good to me." Gwen retorted, not even looking up. "From now on, the only spelling I want to do is in composition class."

"Yeah, easy for you to say. You don't have to live with powers for the rest of your life! You can close a book and be done with it at any point." I hissed, laying my head down on my hand and glaring out the window.
