A dog reflects family life. Whoever saw a frisky dog in a gloomy family or a sad dog in a happy one? Snarling people have snarling dogs, and dangerous people have dangerous ones.

Dave felt like a lucky man. He was getting married to the love of his life, and he felt a bit guilty because he thought of his sister. Muna.

He had always hoped the first in-laws they would have would be from her marriage. But reality was showing them a different thing.

He didn't know about her relationship life like that, and besides the guy from camp, who she talked about for just a few days when she'd returned from camp, that was it.

Oh, TJ was there too, but he knew better.

"What about you?" Dave asked her one Wednesday when they got back home from work and were in the middle of a chat about his upcoming wedding.

Both of them planned on moving out soon; well, Dave was definitely not starting off as a married man in his family house. Typeshit.

He laid back, positioning his head on the throw pillow behind him.

"You mean marriage?" Muna asked.

"Yeah, are you dating anyone?" Dave replied.

"I'm really not ready for marriage yet. I'm so unsure about so many things. Once I'm done with this nysc, I'll be moving to my own apartment and focusing on my career; at least that's my plan for now." She replied and rubbed her eyes.

"Okay. You should take your time, I guess. But, is there someone in the picture?"

She paused for a while, and images of herself on top of Audrina clouded her mind. She smiled and shook her head before replying to him.

"Last night I was seriously considering whether I was bisexual or not, but I don't think so, though I'm not sure if I'd like to be, and argh, I don't think there's anything wrong with that; if you like a person, you like the person, not their genitals. Right?"

"I think you have a valid point there, Moons. I'm with you, always."

Her phone rang, and she stood up to go answer it. She was fond of not being close to her phone, and now it was charging in her room.

She got there just in time before it disconnected and answered it.

"Hi Austin, long time."

"Hey Muna, I would like to invite you to a party at my house." Austin said, with a glimmer of hope in his heart. He knew she was most likely going to say no, but he was going to ask anyway. He had not seen her since they left the NYSC orientation camp in Osun State, and he missed her.

"Uhmm, what kind of party, Austin?" Muna asked.

"It's not my party, though. It's my parents'. They're having some family and friends come around for their thirty-fifth wedding anniversary, and I'd like for you to come."

Dave passed by her room, which was filled with boxes and bags, and poked his head in. She was still moving some of her things to her new place.

"Hey Moons, who's that?" he asked her.

Muna turned around and held the phone away from her mouth before answering him.

"Remember my Austin from camp?" When Dave nodded with a smile, she continued, "Well, he's inviting me to a party. I'm not so sure."

"Say yes, Moons. It's been awhile since you went for something party-ish."

When she tried to protest again, he added, "Look, I and TJ will come along if that'll make you less uncomfortable."

"Seriously?" she asked him as she brought the phone back to her ear.

"Yes, yes. Go on, say you'll come and ask him about inviting us."

A few minutes later, she got off the phone with Austin and told Dave to inform TJ about the invite. It was on a Sunday, so they would most likely all attend the earliest available mass, so they'd be back on time to prepare for the party.

She thought about inviting Audrina too, but she didn't want to bring so many invited guests, seeing as she too was an invited guest. She would tell her about it, though.
