It was normal day, until the group of men broke into your door. Your mom's screams next to gunshot and then silence.

Your mom had taught you to protect yourself only being nine. She said that you were special and it was your job to protect your brother.

You ran to your brother's room him only being three, and made your way to the secret room your mom had shown you.

Before you could get to it a large man stood in front of you. You backed away slowly until your back hit the wall. Immediately putting your brother behind you. "Don't come near me, I'll hurt you" you wanted the larger man, but he laughed in your face.

He gets down on your level. "Oh I'm not here for you, I'm here for him" the man said pushing you out the way and grabbing your little brother and killing him. "It's done" he yelled and then disappeared and I never saw him again.

You ran to your little brother's side and cradled him and you sobbed.

You gasp for air and sit up in the bed. Your breathing becomes erratic and the side lamp turns on and you feel a soft hands grabbing your wrist. "Hey, dekta breathe for me okay, breathe" the voice of your girlfriend's makes you look over at her.

"I couldn't ——I let him—- die— Lena —-I could've saved—him" I stuttered. "Doll breathe okay" yelena tries to get you to calm down and she's trying to put on a brave face, but it pains her to see you in so much pain.

You desperately grip your chest trying to breathe. "I—I" you stop when you feel a pair of lips on yours.

"Dekta it wasn't your fault, you were nine" Yelena pulls away and cradles your face with her hands. "But —-I" Yelena stops you. "No buts it wasn't your fault and that's it" Yelena says placing you on top of her and your head to her chest to listen to her heartbeat hoping it would calm you down and it did.

Once your breathing had evened out, Yelena drawn little circles on your back with one hand and playing with your hair in the other.

YELENA POV
The broken girl in my arms meant everything to me and it hurt to see her blame herself for something that was no where close to being her fault.

These dreams were happening way too often for my liking. Y/n nuzzled her face in my neck and wrapped her arm around my waist. There was a knock on the door and in came the redhead I call my sister. "Again" she questions in a whisper and I nod.

Natasha understands that you two need to be alone and makes her exit out of the room.

I grab the sleeping beauty that beside me and pull her closer. I begin to hear y/n mumbling meaning she was waking up. I laid soft kisses all over her face in hopes it would make her feel better.

Y/n numbly sits up, her eyes were grey and not the usual bright y/e/c that I usually like. "Bubs maybe you should get some more rest before starting your day" I imply but she's quick to get out of bed. "I'm fine Lena" you said making your way to the bathroom. Yelena knew that you were in fact not fine.

I was still lying in bed when you/n came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body. I stand up to wrap my arms around her waist and lay soft kisses to her shoulder and neck. You kept brushing your hair and I could tell she was trying not to break down.

"I was thinking since it was our day off maybe we could go to town and go sight seeing maybe even shopping" I asked hoping it would help distract her from the grief she is feeling.

"I have to get ready for my mission tomorrow morning, so I won't be going anywhere but to the gym" she says walking to the closet leaving me standing there.

"Doll maybe you're working yourself too much, all I ask is you get some rest and have a little fun" I say which causes y/n to turn in anger. "I said I'm fucking fine Yelena let it go" she yells grabbing her clothes and slamming the bathroom door. Not wanting to push her anymore I put my clothes on and make my way down to the kitchen. "Any better" my sister ask as I open the fridge.

"Nope she's denying not be fine and intends to workout and train all day" I tell my sister. "She'll come around just give her time" nat says and in comes y/n.

She walks in and out as if Natasha and I were just ghost. "Ouch I didn't think it was that bad" Natasha says taking a sip of her drink. "Yep" is all I could say before making my way back to our shared room.

All day I hadn't seen no sign of you. She decided it was best to talk tomorrow and let today be the day you have your silence.

Y/N POV
I kept punching the bag until my knuckles began to bleed and body gave out. I decided it was time to stop and made my way to my room. I couldn't face Yelena after yelling and pushing her away.

I walked in the room. Yelena was lying on the bed reading and at the end was Fanny. The dog jumped off the bed and came running to your side. You bent down to her level and petted the dog to calm her. You could tell the dog knew you weren't feeling your best. You looked up to meet Yelena's eyes and immediately stood up and look away. "I'm going to take a shower" you respond walking to the bathroom and shutting the door behind you.

Turning to cut on the shower on cold hoping it would wash away all your bad thoughts. Then turning to mirror to look at your tired state. My was your mind so destructive. You look down at your hands and see the dried blood on your knuckles.

You took off your clothes and climbed in the shower water cold as ice but you got used it as it did in fact calm your mind, but that didn't stop you from breaking down.

You tried to stop the sobs that escaped your mouth, but you needed to let it go for it was too much hold in. Your broken figure felt weak so you slowly sunk to the floor of shower as the water submerged your body.

Yelena must have heard you crying because she broke down the door and came rushing to your aid. Yelena had never seen you in such state and all she wanted to do was take all your pain away, and then giving it to herself just to have the stubborn, sarcastic, kind, gentle, happy girl she fell in love with before the dreams took over.

She immediately into the shower and wrapped her arms around your broken form. "Lena your clothes are wet" you brokenly sobbed while gripping her shirt in need of comfort. "Dekta I don't care about my clothes" she said softly holding you tightly giving you the comfort you've been needing all day.

Yelena whispered sweet nothings in your ear and drew curled on your back trying to keep you calm and it work. Once you were calm enough, Yelena lifted you out of the shower and wrapped you in a warm towel and sitting you on the counter. She took off her clothes and changed into some dry ones and came back with some of her clothes for you. Remembering you always preferred her clothes over own.

She dried you off and gave you soft kisses all over your face while dressing you in her big t-shirt and a pair of her boxers. She dried your hair and brushed it out, then putting it in a light braid not making it too tight to give you a headache.

She applied light kisses to your knuckles and your face wincing at the contact as you didn't realize how bad they actually hurt.

She then lift you off the counter and laid you in the bed and then crawling beside you cuddling up next to you. "Yel" she cuts you off with a kiss. "I know, just relax and get some sleep" she says softly and I listen. My eyes get heavy and I feel myself drifting off to sleep wondering how I landed the best girlfriend in the world. "I love you" I softly mumble before falling asleep and I could feel Yelena's smile against my temple.
