It was the day of my birthday. I have never told the avengers when my birthday was. I just never had anyone to celebrate it with.
I treated today just like every other day. I would go for a run and lift some weights and then take a shower. After my shower, I would grab something to eat. If I had a mission, I would complete it or I would just hang around the compound.
Today I had the day off. I did my morning routine and now it was time to grab me something to eat. I walked in the kitchen and was met with Steve and Yelena. "Hey y/n, good morning" Steve said grabbing my attention.
"Hey Steve" I replied grabbing a drink out the fridge. Yelena just sat quietly at the island. I grabbed a snack and walked out.
YELENA POV After she walked out, I turned to Steve. "Why is she acting so weird." He shrugged his shoulders. "Y/n is like that every morning, I guess today was worser than others" he replied.
I knew today was her birthday. I read it in her file. It made me wonder why she didn't want to do anything or why no one knew about it. Y/n was a asset to the team and she was a friend. How come they don't know her birthday.
"I'm going to go find Natasha " I said walking out. I knocked on her door and she let me in. "Hey Lena what's up" she said looking up from her computer.
"Do you know what today is" I asked to see what she would say. "It's a Friday, January 21st to be exact" she replied and it wasn't the answer I was looking for.
"Did you know that it's y/n's birthday today" Natasha eyes went wide. "That's today" she looked at the date again. She jumped up and dragged me out the door into the meeting room.
All the avengers except y/n were sitting in there talking. "Guys it's y/n's birthday, it totally slipped my mind" Natasha told the avengers.
"I knew I was missing something" Wanda said scratching her head. "Wait you guys knew" I asked a slightly confused. "Yeah, y/n doesn't know that though. We were going to surprise her today with a party, just us" Wanda said.
They all got some supplies and began to set up for the party. Once the party was ready, I went out to grab a gift. I wanted the gift to be special. Y/n loved the color red and she loved jewelry. I went to the jewelry store and got this beautiful ruby red necklace covered in rose gold.

I bought the necklace and headed back to the compound. Then plan was to send y/n a text that we needed to meet in the party room and then surprise her as she walked through the door.
Over the last two years, I had fallen in love with the green eyed woman. I could never get the courage to speak up and when I did, our conversation would be interrupted.
Her smile could light up the whole room. Her skin was flawless and she had the perfect plump lips and body shape.
To me it was perfect, she was perfect and no one could tell me different. Natasha knew about my crush and so did Wanda after she walked in on me and Nat as I was stressing out about a situation that bad happened between me and y/n.
We sent a text telling her to dress nicely. We were all waiting for her to come in and the door opened. She was astonishing. With her brunette hair down and flowing. Her skin was glowing. She had on a black dress that was tight and was right above her knees.
She had her heels in her hand and walked in barefooted. "Happy birthday" we all shouted and she put her hands in front of her face. "Guys you didn't have to" she said walking fully into the room. "Oh come on after two years of not celebrating it, it was the least we could do" tony said pulling her into a hug.
"You clean up nicely" Natasha said, she knew what she was doing. She gave everyone a hug and then the party started. Loud music played and we all danced to the music, except for me of course. I wasn't a dancer. Plus I had a good view of y/n enjoying herself.
Y/n stopped dancing and looked towards me. She put up her hand signaling me to come dance. I immediately shook my head no.
She walked up to me and pulled me up off the couch. "I don't dance" I said trying to sit back down. "Oh come on it's one time and my birthday" she used her birthday to make me dance and it worked.
"Fine" I said and she jumped up in excitement and dragged me to the dance floor. It was a more upbeat song so she grabbed my hands and jumped up and down. I didn't know what to do. "Come on" she said smiling. "I don't dance" I said smiling back. "Just listen to the music and feel the beat and then let your body lead you" she jumped up and down to the song.
She saw me looking uncomfortable and she grabbed my hands placing them on her hips. "Just follow me" she yelled as the music was loud.
She wrapped her arms around my shoulders and danced to the music. I just followed her movements. "See it's not hard" she laughed and let go of me.
She had no idea what she does to me. We danced some more and then drunk a couple of shots, so I felt a little tipsy.
The party was over and everyone was ready to go to bed. Before y/n could slip away, I grabbed her hand. "Hey can I have you for a second" I was beginning to feel nervous. "Yeah what's up" she put all her attention on me.
I looked into her eyes and forgot everything I wanted to say. "I Umm..I wanted to.....I wanted to say that for the two years I've known you, you've showed me a lot. And to show my appreciation I got you a little something" I pulled out the necklace and she gasped.
"It's perfect" she smiled and gave me a tight hug. "Do you want to put it on me" she smiled and I agreed. She turned around and I draped the necklace around her neck. I hooked the necklace and she turned around to give me another hug.
"Thank you so much" she said while still giving me a hug. "You're welcome" I said and for some reason she didn't let go.
She finally pulled away and I looked into her eyes. "I Umm need to go" she said backing up. Before she could leave a grabbed her hand. "Wait" I pulled her close and leaned in.
She leaned in and it was something I've never felt before. I heard whistling and turned to see Wanda and Natasha at the door laughing. "It's about time" Natasha said walking away, Wanda following.
