Melanie Jayne's bedroom was huge. There were huge windows decorated with luxurious victorian velvet drapes that would block out the sunlight completely when let down. She had a four post bed made from old carved wood which has a certain smell when the weather gets warmer. The bed was definitely too big for a little girl to be sleeping in alone but all the rooms were furnished with such beds and hers was no exception.

She never had many dolls and doll houses because she was never that interested in them. She did however have a lot of art tools and easels. She also had a lot of homemade kits for small indoor experiments. She had a huge wall of books because she liked learning new skills and techniques in doing things like repairing and mending things so Nicole's father would always buy her books from his trips to be added to her not-so-little library.

Victor got ready for tea and waited on the bed for Jean to come by. He kept looking at the picture Melanie Jayne sent him. He wanted so much to be with her. He took a deep breath and decided to look through the other things he and Melanie Jayne were exchanging in the last couple of days. He did not realize that she sent him some of the pictures of the baby's progress from the ultrasound scans when they met with the gynae before he left. The baby is probably a lot bigger now, he thought.

He decided to send his wife a text message. He listed down names he thought would be appropriate for their little girl but before he could hit "send", Jean knocked on the door, telling him it's time to go. He immediately locked his phone and placed it into his pocket as he walked out the door.

Jean walked Victor down to the dining area and waited for Lord Roberts.

Jean: I was on the phone with Theodore.......

Victor: Did he say anything worrying about Melanie Jayne?

Jean: He said the midwife stopped by unannounced yesterday.......

Victor: She did? Why didn't Melanie Jayne tell me anything?

Jean: I have no idea why she wouldn't tell you but Theodore did say she seemed a little worried at the dining table after that sudden check-up. I have asked Theodore to ask Ayaka for more information........

Victor: Why didn't she say anything to me yesterday?

Jean: Perhaps.....she did not want you to worry.......

Victor: Of course I'll be worried. Now, more than ever.......

Jean: Mr. Kline, if there was anything alarming, I am sure Mitsuru would have told you.......I am sure there is nothing to be worried about........

Lord Roberts arrived just then and everyone sat down. There were servants moving around, serving tea and biscuits and other pastries as everyone talked. Victor was quiet most of the time.

Nicole: I thought this is your thing, Victor.......Tea and biscuits......

Victor: (looks at Nicole like he was suddenly awaken from deep thought) Erm.....I beg your pardon?

Nicole: (annoyed) What is with you? Have you spoken to your wife today?

Victor: Yes......I wasn't aware of the time difference......

Jean: I could help you set an alarm for an appropriate time for you to call her and have a proper conversation, if you'd like........

Victor: That would be great, Jean. Thanks.

Lord Roberts: What is it that worries you so much, Mr. Kline?

Victor: Oh.....she's erm......I just don't want her to go into labor before I get home.......She's probably alright, like Jean said.....I just worry too much.......
