MJA : Time Is Not Enough

Melanie Jayne was asleep. It was still early in the morning and the maids were not outside. She was also tired from trying to keep up with Victor's time zones in the last couple of days so sleeping in seemed like a wonderful idea. The bed was cozy but it was getting warmer so having her feet out was one way to keeping herself cool while still staying under the covers. She had to sleep on her side because her tummy was getting too big for her to sleep on her back. She turned to face inward towards Victor's side of the bed. It was weird. She could smell him. Maybe she was missing him too much.

Lying down on the bed somewhere between being awake and asleep, she felt someone touching her face. She just smiled with her eyes closed. She must be dreaming. Then, she felt someone caressing her hair and touching her face again. She opened her eyes and saw Victor lying down beside her, looking at her, smiling.

Victor: (whispers) Good morning, beautiful........

Melanie Jayne got up immediately and rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

MJ: Victor? You came back! (hugs Victor) I've missed you so much! (starts to cry)

Victor: I've missed you too, love. (hugs Melanie) I've missed you so much! God, it feels good to hold you...... (sniffs Melanie's hair)

MJ: How long have you been on the bed?

Victor: About 15 minutes........(smiles) I just wanted to watch you sleep........ (wipes tears from Melanie's face) I miss watching you sleep.......

Victor laid down on the bed with Melanie Jayne and cuddled. He kept caressing her hair and kissing her as he hugged her from behind while lying on the side. He just wanted to stay this way until it was time to get ready for breakfast. Melanie Jayne went back to sleep in his arms. She was finally feeling at home again.

The sun was finally out and there were footsteps outside the bedroom door. Melanie Jayne and Victor did not want to move. They were missing each other too much. After a few minutes of lying in bed, Melanie Jayne got up because she did not want to keep the maids waiting.

MJ: Honey.....you wanna get some breakfast?......Victor? (turns to looks at Victor who was snoring away)

Victor was asleep. He was tired. Melanie Jayne slowly moved his arm and got up. She caressed his hair and kissed his cheek as she tucked him in the covers. She made her way out and got ready for breakfast. Ayaka asked how she was feeling because the midwife was coming to see her again after breakfast. The timing was perfect because Victor was already home. She was feeling more at ease knowing that if she ever did get into labor, she would have Victor with her to hold her hand.

Sitting at the breakfast table were Lorenzo, Kaito, Theodore and Jean. Everyone else were still asleep, including Victor.

Lorenzo: I was informed that the midwife is coming in to check on you today.......

MJ: Yup.

Kaito: How are you feeling, Mitsuru? Any pain anywhere?

MJ: A little.....but it's been happening so I thought it's kinda normal......right?

Lorenzo: My child......those are contractions. The more often it happens, it just means....the baby is coming........

MJ: Already? I thought the water bag had to break or something? At least, that's what I read.........

Kaito: The midwife would know what is happening. Do not worry.

Jean: Mr. Kline had been wanting to come home for this. It's a good thing you still have time....... (looks at Melanie who seemed worried) You can do this, Mitsuru. (smiles)
