Family Ritual

Theodore finally managed to unlock Jean's medical room. He opened the door and Jean told him to not make too much noise. Melanie Jayne was asleep on Jean's bed, next to him. She was tired and she's had a long day. Lorenzo, Victor and Nick walked in. Lorenzo informed Jean that Kaito was ready and waiting in his war armour and katana. Jean asked that they gave him some time while he wakes Melanie Jayne up. Everybody left the room and Jean gently pats Melanie Jayne's head.

Jean: Melanie Jayne......It's time to get up......

MJ: I don't wanna go school today......

Jean smiled. She must have been dreaming about those times when Jean used to wake her up for school on days that she was really tired. She sometimes gets this way even when she was already done with school.

Jean: You're not in school anymore, Miss Anderson. Come on. It's time to get up.

Melanie Jayne yawned and rubbed her eyes. She was a bit disoriented when she saw Jean.

MJ: Jean? Are you alright?

Jean: (smiles) I am. Why do you ask?

MJ: I had this dream that you were injured so badly. I thought you were leaving me.

Jean smiled and hugged Melanie Jayne.

Jean: I'm still here, Melanie Jayne. You can't get rid of me that easily.

Melanie Jayne hugged Jean.

MJ: I'm not gonna get rid of you, Jean. Never.

Jean sat up and looked at Melanie Jayne. He looked a little more serious like he was about to ask her to do something.

Jean: We have to get ready. Kaito is waiting.

MJ: Get ready?

Melanie Jayne was expected to wear a formal kimono for the ritual. The Yamamoto family had prepared a special kimono for Melanie Jayne, Victor and Christopher for the ritual made from white and gold silk. Jean and Lorenzo were also expected to wear a formal kimono for the ritual. Jean briefed Melanie Jayne about what she is expected to do. Each and every family member had a part in this which would help strengthen the family bond.

MJ: I don't know if I can do this, Jean. I'm not......violent......

Jean: You'll be fine. We're all here to guide you. Come on.

Melanie Jayne helped Jean get up and they slowly made their way to the room where Kaito had been waiting for them. As she entered the room, Christopher was seated on the floor with Baek-Hyon. Lorenzo and Nick were seated next to them. Victor was sitting with Takeshi. Melanie Jayne took her place beside Victor and Jean. Theodore was seated next to them.

Melanie Jayne was nervous. They were all sitting behind Kaito. He looked like he had been meditating in his armour. His katana was placed on the floor next to him. He was facing Natalia who was in chains. She had been awake for a while. It seemed as though she had just been waiting. Melanie Jayne was expecting the worst. She thought Kaito might have injured her a little more while waiting for the family.

Kaito stood up and faced the family.

Kaito: My family......Today, our prayers have been answered. We have obtained the very witch who betrayed this family and taken our beloved Kana away from us. Kana was a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother to us all. She was loved and she had given us nothing but love and compassion throughout her life. Her strength and spirit lives through us all and today, she is with us, right here, in this room. Kana, we have brought this traitor and murderer to bring you peace. My family, I ask you now, why must we spare this monster from being slaughtered today? She had put my sister through so much pain and suffering before her demise.
