MJA : Time Is Not Enough

The Bait

Jean had been going back and forth over every last detail and information he could obtain pertaining to the whereabouts of Natalia. He was taking this matter very seriously. Victor could tell just how dangerous Natalia really is just by looking at all the information Jean had gathered on the meeting table. Melanie Jayne was on her computer trying to plot the best place and time to set up a trap.

Melanie Jayne was seated with Takeshi and Sebastian while Jean and Victor were at the main table putting the pieces together.

MJ: This seems to be the best plan we can come up with, wouldn't you think so, Seb?

Seb: Yup.

Takeshi: She is here?

Seb: She is. That's why we have to be at least 2 steps ahead of her. (whispers to Melanie) She knows Jean just as well as he knows her........

MJ: (whispers) How come?

Seb: (whispers) Because........They used to.......

Jean interrupts Melanie Jayne and Sebastian's whisperings.

Jean: Because, we used to work together. (looks at Sebastian) Are you done gossiping, Sebastian?

Seb: What? Gossip? Me?

Jean: If you have anything to say, have the decency to address it directly.........

Seb: I erm.....no, sir. I had no intention of such things. (looks back at his computer)

Jean asked Melanie Jayne to go over the plan she had come up with. Lorenzo joins in and sits next to Victor.

MJ: I was thinking that the best thing you can do is to lure her out into the open. What better place to have her than at the busiest place here. The city center. We can have everyone ready and we would be able to have a lot more reinforcements involved. Just for better security coverage.

Lorenzo: We have one shot at this. We wouldn't want her to slip away.

Victor: When you said "lure" her, you mean live bait?

MJ: Mmmhmmm........

Victor looked at Melanie Jayne. 

Victor: You mean Jean, right? Not you?

MJ: Well, we have to make it believable.

Victor: Believable? What does that mean?

Lorenzo: That means, we have to make sure we put out something she really, really wants in order for her to come out into the open.

Victor kept quiet. He knew what they meant and he didn't like it.

Victor: I don't understand. You said Melanie Jayne wouldn't have to go out there, Jean?

Jean kept quiet. He knew Victor was going to get upset. He looked over at Melanie Jayne.

MJ: Honey, it's just a bait. She won't get guns out in the open. Well......she could but we will be prepared.......

Victor: How prepared? Like how you almost got shot at a peaceful agreement signing meeting? Like how we were attacked by military grade explosives that took out the entire house? This is Natalia we are talking about. She's just as crazy as Collins. If not, worse.

Melanie Jayne took Victor's hand and smiled.

MJ: We have to be prepared because we know she is that crazy. We have to make this count. We have to make sure no one gets killed.
