Melanie Jayne had been spending time talking to Jean and Kaito about a lot of things. Most of which were with regards to her mother. She was curious and she wanted to learn more about how her mother was raised and what she used to do before she met her father. Victor would usually sit with her as she has afternoon tea with her uncle and Jean.

Kaito: There are only so many ways for you to learn more about your mother. Perhaps, the best way to do it is to learn how she lived. In your lifetime, you would have most likely been taught to have routines. I assume waking up on time and getting to school on time. I know Jean is very meticulous about time. (looks at Jean)

Jean smiled and nodded.

MJ: Oh, you are, Jean! (laughs) I never get up late. He would never let me.

Jean: But still, there are days that you do......... (laughs)

MJ: I'm not a robot, Jean! I'd get so tired sometimes!

Kaito: Time is just one aspect of it all. Your mother was very diligent with how she spends her time. She had other things to do just as much. It wasn't always about school and grades. There were household chores. (looks at Melanie) Do you make your own bed every morning when you wake up?

Melanie Jayne just looked down like she was avoiding the question.

Jean: She does......sometimes.......

Kaito sipped his cup of tea and smiled. He was aware that Melanie Jayne grew up with maids and servants and Jean was just her caretaker and guardian.

Kaito: (smiles) For the most part, Jean had been very successful at raising you.

Melanie Jayne smiled and looked over at Victor who was looking at her like he was really proud of her. He took her hand and held it.

Jean used to spend a lot of his time talking to Kana when he was taking care of her. She was very polite and she was very concerned about her baby. She would spend time in the afternoons having tea with Jean and her maid when Lorenzo was away. She always enjoyed being in the company of people whom she trusts.

As her pregnancy progressed, she was getting more and more worried about having the baby without having her husband by her side. He was getting busier by the day and she saw him every other day of the week. She understood why he was keeping himself busy. He wanted to make sure that everything was settled and taken care of upon the arrival of the baby so that he can be at home with his family.

Kana used to express her worries about raising a baby in a world where many things were becoming more and more uncertain by the day. Too many drastic changes have taken place and she was worried if her child was going to grow up unguided. She used to speak to Jean about how she would have wanted to raise her child. Jean had always been attentive and a good listener. He was also the one who was always telling Kana that she was going to be a good mother with guidance from Lorenzo. Her child would grow up happy and complete.

The day Kana died; he remembered every single thing Kana had ever told him about how she would have wanted to raise Melanie Jayne. He was devastated but he wanted to make sure her baby was taken care of the way she would have wanted. He knew that the day he decided to raise Melanie Jayne, he was also trying to fulfil Kana's wishes and hopes.

Victor: I think Jean raised Melanie Jayne perfectly. (smiles) And I'm not just saying it because she's my wife, Kaito. I mean it. She's everything you could ever hoped for her to be as a Yamamoto.

Kaito smiled and rolled his eyes.

Kaito: Speaking of being a Yamamoto. Mr. Kline, I have a proposal for you.
