Melanie Jayne was never afraid of anything growing up. She always felt curious about everything and with every experiment she's ever conducted, she would learn consequences. These consequences would drive her to read more and research more into perfecting whatever it was she was curious about. Sometimes, she would find the answers at the end of her journey. Other times, the results just frustrates her. This would drive her to conduct more experiments.

These experiments are sometimes dangerous when she is not monitored. She is known to be trying new things without informing anyone because she used to spend a lot of time alone. Her nannies were never aware of what she was doing when she was alone in her room. Sometimes, they would find burns or cuts or bruises on her the next day or so. Still, nothing she's ever done was too dangerous. That was, up until she was in elementary school when she qualified and was nominated to join the science fair.

The catastrophic result to the one and only science fair she had ever joined traumatized Jean so much that he swore he would never leave her out of his sight for as long as she was under the age that required supervision. He understood that she was just a curious child who read a lot and wanted to explore new possibilities. He was just worried if she would get herself injured. Jean was always worried about Melanie Jayne. No matter what he says, he will always be worried about Melanie Jayne.

When he heard her express how terrified she was about giving birth before she had gone into labor, he began to worry. He just never allowed himself to show it because he did not want to worry Victor anymore than he already was at the time. He never shows it explicitly but Jean is overprotective over Melanie Jayne just as much as Victor and Lorenzo. After all, he raised her.

Lorenzo and Kaito has asked Victor to join them for a drink after the countless hours of waiting for Melanie Jayne outside the labor room. The baby is now born safely and Melanie Jayne is resting for recovery, they thought he might need some time for himself before he begins his journey with babysitting the newborn.

Kaito: What will it be, Mr. Kline? Something light for the tasting or something with a little more punch?

Victor: I think I'll pass. I need to stay sober for Melanie Jayne........

Lorenzo: (sipping his glass of wine) She will recover but it will take some time......You might want to use this time for yourself......

Victor: I could use a cup of tea, actually........

Jean joins in with a pot of green tea and sits down next to Victor.

Jean: (pours a cup of tea for Victor) Here you go, Mr. Kline.

Victor: Thank you, Jean.

Kaito: Have you decided on a name for the child?

Victor: Honestly, I would think it's only appropriate to have Melanie Jayne name her. (sips his tea) She did say she didn't want me to name the baby after her.

Jean: She's probably right......

Victor: Really? And why is that?

Jean: It's too long, if you ask me.......

Victor: But......you were the one who gave her the name 'Melanie Jayne'......

Jean smiled as he sips his cup of tea.

Kaito: (looks at Victor) Do not worry, Mr. Kline. Ayaka will assist you with the baby and the midwife will continue to look after Mitsuru throughout her recovery.

Victor just smiled. He had a lot on his mind and he hasn't even fully recovered from the trip. He was worried about Melanie Jayne. After a few minutes of sipping tea, he excused himself and headed into the bedroom. He just laid down on the bed and tried to take a nap to relax his mind. He began to realize that the bed really did seemed empty when his wife was not with him.
