"Hey wanna see something fascinating?" Luke turned to his nursing student Madeline as they walked down the hallway.
It had been a boring day so far and it was barely one in the afternoon Luke sensed that Madeline was looking for something entertaining.

"I got a plan" he smirked showing her the way, they went onto the elevator and went to the ground floor of the hospital and got off, walking down another long hallway the only difference of this hallway was it was completely plain and quiet.

Luke led the way to a room with a huge metal door. "Uh what's this?" She stopped seeming confused.

Madeline quickly noticed the printed out sign on the door "medical examiner out to lunch 1pm to 2pm for an urgent matter page line 000"

"Welcome to the morgue" Luke announced tugging at the ID card pinned to his shirt scanning it on the scanner stepping back allowing the door to unlock. "Why did you bring me here?"

"Because it's a learning opportunity. There's a lot more cooler things down here than up here." She shrugged following him inside. In the middle of the room was an operating table and a smaller table next to it with supplies on it. There was over head lights and magnifiers hanging from the ceiling, a small sink against the wall and wall to wall metal cabinets all over with locks on it. The other thing she immediately noticed was how much colder it was in there compared to the hallway.

To Madeline it just seemed like some biotic operating room and nothing more. She watched Luke walk over to the table picking up a clip board on it and watched him sign his name and write down the time. "What are you doing?"

"When someone comes in here we have to sign in and sign out for records purposes and security reasons. This is my second time in here today."

"Your second time?" She asked raising an eyebrow and she walked over taking the clipboard from him so she can sign in too. "Yeah before you come in for your clinical this morning I lost a patient and they chose me to bring him down here"

"Oh" Madeline replied putting the clipboard and pen down. "I'm sorry about that"

"It's okay but anyways back to the lesson"

Luke started being the teacher again walking into the center of room pointing all around "see behind all these metal doors are where they store people after you know.." he trailed off. "Oh"

"That's why it's cold in here because they need to keep people's loved ones preserved before they funeral homes get ahold of them"

"Oh"

"And that table right there" he pointed at the other side of the room now "that's where the medical examiner does post Mortem procedures"

"So autopsies?"

"Yeah but only if it's warranted or it's requested by the family"

"Have you ever seen an autopsy?" She questioned curiosity beaming from her eyes.

"Once in medic school"

"Medic school?"

"Yep lots of interesting stuff in those cadaver labs"

"Being in here doesn't creep you out?" She asked looking all around gulping slightly confused to why Luke was so energetic toward this topic.

"No because honestly we're not seeing anything gross or weird or anything it just looks like a place inside a hospital"

"Yeah but there's dead people in those walls" Madeline pointed at one of the walls in front of her.

"Yeah but we're not doing anything wrong and we're being respectful"
