Luke didn't know what else to do, so he went near Eloise and crouched down, gentling pressing on her shoulder, "Eloise, wake up, I need you to wake up, Eloise, it's important, please."

He did it a few times, and he saw her move, "what's going on? Dad what're you doing?"

"Eloise, something happened with your brother, and I need to go to him"

"What?" She was still confused.

"Listen they're not letting me out of here, something terrible happened to Elliot and they have him in the ER here. They have all hands on deck, I need you to help me."

"What? Are you sure that somethings wrong with Elliot?"

"Yes, I need to go see him, help me please."

Eloise started rubbing her eyes and focusing in on her father.

"What is it you like me to do?"

"This room's door can only be opened from the outside and the only way that happens is if someone comes in here."

"Yes I'm listening."

"And as much as this goes against everything as a healthcare professional, if I mess up your IV and EKG leads that'll set up the alarm and therefore someone will have to come in."

"Oh-"

"My plan is to get someone to come in here and open the door and I'll make a run for it so I can get down to the ER."

Eloise was looking at him like he had lost his mind.

"Dad, this isn't a TV show this is real life. In what world is that going to work? They can just drag you back and strap you down to your bed."

"Look I know that's a possibility but like, I need this to work. If I don't find out what's going on with Elliot now, I'll totally regret it."

"Are you sure you're in the right state of mind to do this? You look sweaty and there's blood dripping out of your IV line." Eloise look concerned but Luke started smiling like he had everything covered.

"It's fine, it's fine. So my plan.. are you okay with it? All I gotta do is jumble up the leads and disconnect your pump from the IV."

Eloise took a deep breath trying not to roll her eyes over this idiotic statement. "Sure, but be careful out there."

"I will. Thank you for this."

Luke went over, and started pulling off the leads sticking them in random places and then disconnected the IV from the pump.

With in seconds the alarms in the room starting going off, "HEY! Help us in here!" Luke shouted, stumbling toward the door, hoping someone would come in right away.

"Hey!! Somethings wrong!" He yelled out again and there was loud footsteps followed by the doorknob being turned.

A group of people dressed in special gear came in, wondering what was going on. They immediately saw Eloise, and how everything was a mess.

Eloise started crying over everything and that was Luke's cue, and he managed to squeeze out the door, unfortunately the doctors caught on to Luke's escape.

Luke making a run for it down the corridor. "HEY GET BACK HERE YOURE EXPOSING EVERYONE!" One of the doctors yelled but Luke didn't listen he ran, sweat pouring down his face, and blood dropping from his IV sight.

"I have to see my son!" He exclaimed disappearing at the hallways corner.

Despite the doors to the ER being closed and taped off, Luke didn't care, he pushed through the doors shouting "ELLIOT" immediately stopping in his tracks seeing a sea of doctors and nurses swarming the middle of the room.

There was a lot of noise, as well as a distinctive burning smell that punched him right in the face. "I NEED TO SEE MY SON!"

He screamed out again, getting the attention of a few people who came to his aid because he nearly came crashing to the ground.

"Luke? Oh my god Luke it is you." A few of his colleagues came rushing over helping him to stay upright.

"What happened to Elliot? I need to see him, he's my son." He jumbled his words as he rambled.

"He was in a bad drunk driving accident Luke, we're doing everything we can to stabilize him right now. It's too much for you to handle right now-"

"Dani, I don't care, he's my son."

Dani looked at Jessie and then at Luke, the two of them agreeing to help Luke over to where the chaos was.

Luke stumbled despite being supported by two people. "Let Luke see his son" Dani announced people moved slightly, Luke gasping when he saw Elliot.

"Elliot my baby-boy." He cried out, seeing how he had significant burns on his body and was being constantly ventilated by a team of doctors.

Luke nearly collapsed seeing the sight of his eldest son. Dani and Jessie tried their hardest to keep him up right but he was rambling and crying and calling out for his son.

It was a heartbreaking moment for everyone involved, "alright, I think he's seen enough, get him out of here so we can stablilize this kid and get him up to the burn unit" the head doctor barked orders waving his arm for Luke to get moved out but he wouldn't listen, despite Dani and Jessie trying to convince him too.

Luke felt the room spinning, Dani and Jessie's voices sounding distorted in his brain making it harder to focus and listen. "What?"

He started making confused faces and started panicking.

Luke's world around him started going white and he started loosing his balance, the last thing he heard was "get him a wheelchair" before blacking out.

Luke woke up about an hour later back in his cot this time, in restraints, his daughter, calling his name, "dad! Dad! Do you hear me? It's Eloise!"

It took him a minute to come back to reality, realizing where he was, "what just happened?"

"Why am I confined to this bed?"

"Why do I feel so weird?"

He threw a bunch of questions at her, wanting her to reply quickly.

"You really have no clue what went on earlier today?"

"No, am I supposed to?"

"You spiked a fever of 105° and had a manic episode and had to be cooled down and pumped with a lot of meds."

"No fucking way"

"I don't remember that"

"Did they ever find out what illness we have"

"Yep, a rare form of bacteria meningitis. We should be good to go in a few days."

"You're kidding."

"No, but, I'm relieved that they figured out what's wrong and that they can treat us for it."

"Why do I feel so strange?" Luke asked, looking over at his daughter. "Something feels off. Do you feel what I'm feeling?"

"No. I think I'm feeling pretty okay at the moment."

"Seriously something wrong, but I'm not sure what exactly is wrong right now."

"Maybe your body is too overwhelmed by the meds?"

"Maybe but I'm not sure that it's that."

"Hmmm. Maybe you're exhausted?!"

"Wait, unless I had a dream and am now forgetting about having one?"

"Maybe. Maybe page the doctor, this may be a side effect of what they gave us."
