48 hours went by and Luke never left the hospital, he stayed on a chair across the room either staring into space or holding his son's hand.

The silence was killing him, until Elliot started thrashing and pulling at things and panicking. Luke springing up as nurses rushed in.

Luke gave the nurses room to work, he watched as they safely restrained him and took out what was needed anymore.

"Elliot please stop, you're going to hurt yourself or someone else. It's okay, you're okay. You're safe." Luke spoke sweetly wanting his son to calm down.

It broke Luke's heart seeing his son fighting people caring for him, "Elliot I'm here, if that will help you, I want you to know I'm here. You're safe, and nothing bad is going to happen to you." Luke continued speaking as one nurse managed to strap down one of Elliot's legs and one of Elliot's arms and another nurse did the same with the other arm and leg.

He never seen Elliot react that way, he was probably confused and lost and probably having a reaction from all the meds they had him on.

Elliot still tried to fight despite being restrained until another nurse put something in his IV to calm him down and break the aggression.

Luke waited an extra minute before approaching the bed, the nurses beginning to clear out once confirming that Elliot was stable and actually conscious.

"Elliot thank god you're okay, I've been worried sick about you."

Elliot still wouldn't look at him or answer.

"Elliot can you hear me? See me? You haven't been responsive or alert in days do you remember what happened?" Luke gritted his teeth watching Elliot look in the other direction.

"Can you remember anything? Can you remember why the doctors found five times the legal amount of alcohol in your system and why they had to pump your stomach and detox your kidneys?" Elliot was still silent, but Luke knew that his son could hear him because he saw him roll his eyes.

"Do you know what day it is? Do you remember being in the apartment? Puking on the carpet?"luke pressed him even further.

"Elliot.. your freaken heart stopped goddamnit! Steph found you! I have no idea what led to this but when I saw you on the floor I thought it was too late." Luke admitted, anger present in his voice.

"You had us worried sick, we didn't know what happened and we were almost out of options on what to do because what we were doing wasn't working. You almost left me for good, Elliot. I wasn't sure how I was going to live myself knowing we fought the very last time we spoke."

Luke stared at him waiting for an answer even if it was just two words.

"Why are you even here? What makes you think I want you here?" Elliot finally answered anger in his voice. Luke was a bit taken back not expecting to get spoken to like that.

"Excuse me?" Luke furrowed an eyebrow and put one hand on his hip.

"This is my life I can do whatever the hell I want. I don't need you. You have done nothing but make my life worse. When will you understand that you're not always needed?"

"What is your problem? I fucking saved your life!" Luke started raising his voice this time around.

"Why would you do that? You had no right to do that. You shouldn't have touched me."

"Excuse me? Elliot, I'm a medic who happens to be your father.. Steph found you in cardiac arrest, she called me. You're my fucking son, I wouldn't just let you die!?"

"You should've stayed out of it, it was Stephanie's call not yours. You had no right to help and to bring me back."

"Elliot why would you say that?" Luke was starting to get choked up, upset at  the fact that his son was treating him this way.
