Whenever I was with her, there was always a catchy tune playing in my mind. It was usually one of those upbeat and joyful songs that she loved. It seemed to happen every time we were creating wonderful memories together. I never quite grasped the reason behind it, but I couldn't help but admit that I enjoyed it.
We’d found ourselves all dressed up, surrounded by a bunch of teenagers in an arcade on a Friday night. I had just treated her to a fancy date, but to be honest, the moment she agreed to come to the arcade, I knew I was in for an even better time. I had meticulously planned that date ever since we agreed on it, but this was already surpassing my expectations.

We played DDR, my nice leather shoes and her cute heeled boots clacking on the metal dance pad. That sweater she was wearing showed off her shoulders and I kept getting a peek at her back when she spun and danced. She looked so sweet. I just wanted to dance with her all night.
It felt just like we used to do.
But we also hadn't? As soon as I met up with her again, the dreams started up again. As weird as it sounded, it felt like I wanted to remember them. Like a part of me was making sure I felt this way even if it was just in my mind. So many years worth of false memories, but still they swirled violently in my heart.

“Wanna play Soul Calibur?” She asked, pointing her thumb over her shoulder at the cabinet.
“UH yeah.” I said, grabbing her hand and pulling her towards it.
“Gonna kick your ass.” She said, smirking up at me.
“Pfft sure.” I waved my hand, “You haven't played with me in years. You have no idea what I'm capable of. Don't cry when you lose, alright?”
“Same, you big cocky asshole.” She grinned, swatting my arm.

She pulled me by the hand down the street, her bright smile could light up the whole night. Holding my hand tight, she took me wherever, the few shots of liquid courage making her loosen up and get more playful.
Hell, I'd had a couple myself. We were getting dirty looks, making too much noise laughing and cracking stupid jokes. I didn't even care where we were going.
