“Y’know, I've been wondering if your ability really has to affect you too.”
“What do you mean?”
“You reverse yourself when you do it and end up back where you were, but what if you just reversed everything else and stayed where you are?”
10:00 pm and my face still dripped with my fresh blood. Dagon had yet to transform. Sukuna should not have been awake yet. Megumi and Itadori would be outside fighting the curse users on the rooftop, although that was probably over instantly by sending Sukuna that way. Toji would not revive this round, but that's fine. We'd see this again for sure. My guess was he'd go for Megumi right away anyway. He'd be the perfect bargaining chip he'd need, knowing he could get me to fight him directly if he threatened my family.
I hurried up to the street level, sprinting towards the area Megumi would be. I gave myself just enough time, just enough space. It should have been fine...
“Megumi!!” I shouted, the boy turning to look at me, still confused by the reversal. Itadori was nowhere to be seen, but Jiro Awasaka was still standing surprisingly. He seemed just as confused as Megumi, having died but now being alive again mere minutes before he should have been struck by Itadori's divergent fist.
“RUN!!” I shouted, only to see the blades of Sukuna's ability slice right through both of them.
“No, I'm afraid it won't be that easy.” Sukuna chuckled, landing beside me and swinging his leg at my knees. The impact made my bones creak before I reversed again.
9:50. How far back would I need to go? I needed to get to the time before Itadori was turned, but after Satoru was sealed. That's when they changed him for sure. They wouldn't have done it before Satoru was sealed, that would be foolish.
“Are you trying to get me locked up again?” His voice rasped in my ear.
I ducked under a strike from his fist, only to take the sweep of his leg. I hissed in pain, but with no time to think about it, I rolled back and got back on my feet. He was on me already, fists crashing into my back before I reversed again. This time I moved with it, taking the reversal back to where I was at 9.
I had no choice. That was when I'd gone into labor, but I heard them talking about Itadori. I was in the hall, listening in.
“Change of plans. Take him to Jogo and feed him the fingers right after I seal Satoru Gojo.” The unknown man said, “I don't know how, but they figured us out.”
“Sure. Whatever.” Mahito replied, “Should we kill her too?”
Perfect. Right where I wanted to be.
I darted the other way, down the stairs and past the station platform into the tunnel. That's where they'd be right now. Jogo would probably still be fighting with Hanami and Satoru wouldn't even notice me. Their domain amplification would likely be enough to mask my presence if I also kept my own energy low. I just needed to physically hide just inside the train tunnel until after Satoru was sealed. As long as I was out of Satoru's way he should be able to–
“Sarah!?”
I looked down the tunnel only to see Satoru standing there. Blindfold down, eyes bright, he looked at me with complete shock. The wall behind him was shattered, Hanami’s purple blood splashed all over the crater.
He killed them way faster than I thought.
“You wanna tell me what the fuck you're doing down here?” He growled, walking towards me.
Behind him, Jogo backed off. This worked in the curse's favor. All he needed to do was stall Satoru for twenty minutes. That's all the time the Constant had asked for. This was perfect for him! No risk to himself at all. He grinned at me in some kind of twisted thanks, and I really just wanted to dunk his head in a toilet or something.
