“So, our first event is the mission Satoru will take Okkotsu and Maki on.” Suguru explained, sitting in our living room. Akie was flitting around, too exited to sit still with Suguru visiting. Kaisei was in Satoru's arms, and Ryousei was laying on his tummy watching everything closely like a little guard dog.
“In the story, I had released the curse into the school that captured the two children inside.” Suguru explained, “So, I will do the same this time. There is no reason to change this particular event.”
“Right.” I agreed with a nod, “This one is pretty straightforward. We know the kids won't be in real peril anyway.”
“Shouldn't be too hard on them.” Satoru said, handing Kaisei another tiny cracker, “We have managers that can replace memories. It'll be like a bad dream.”
“Following that, my next task would be the shopping center mission.” Suguru said, “That's another one that shouldn't be an issue.”
“And honestly you can likely just show yourself for the declaration of war too.” I said thoughtfully, “This is probably easier than I thought. At least until the big day.”
Satoru nodded, “The actual ‘attack’ is gonna be the issue.”
“Yes,” Suguru agreed, “As for that, I plan on letting the simulacrum fight and I will just keep nearby and summon the curses for it as if he himself is using them. I'd like to borrow the rope for that if you don't mind.”
“Ah, good idea.” I said, “Seems like you've got this pretty well taken care of.”
Suguru smiled, “Yes, well I've had quite a lot of time to think on it. It's very important this goes well, after all.”
I leaned back and let out a sigh, still feeling stressed about everything. However, it did bring some relief to know that Suguru was incredibly prepared. Honestly, I should have anticipated this, as he was always so intelligent. He sat there contently, wearing a smile as Akie proudly displayed another one of her drawings. It was as if there were no worries in sight.
Satoru put his hand on mine, “Hey, it's gonna be alright, okay? You're not alone on this.” He said softly, “We're gonna get through it just fine.”
“I had a feeling you'd be stressing about it.” Suguru said, looking over at me, “I promise I have plenty of ideas in case anything goes wrong. We'll get through this part easily. Just focus on preparing for the fight with Sukuna.”
“Speaking of preparing!” I said, “I really should try out the infinite void thing again.”
Satoru squeezed his eyes shut, “Ugh, but right now?”
“Why are you so against it?” I nudged him with my knee, “It's really important that I know what I am up against. I'm the one that may have to fight some kind of crazy huge curse.”
Satoru glowered before looking at me with concern, “I know but… I'm just worried. What if, ya know? What if something goes wrong?”
“It won't.” I insisted, “You'll be right there with me, right? I've gotten a lot stronger since the first time too so I can definitely handle it for a lot longer.”
“I mean, yeah sure of course.” He waved his hand, “But we can't be too careful.”
I cocked my head to the side, finding it peculiar. Normally, he was enthusiastic about these sorts of things. Lately, though, he seemed increasingly worried. I was already aware that he was keeping something from me; I wasn't naive. But whatever it was, he was resolute in his secrecy. I shifted my gaze to Suguru, who also appeared somewhat guilty. It all clicked in my mind, and I understood that Suguru was definitely in on it as well. I squinted at both of them suspiciously.
