Giving a chance

Doctor Song (placing reports on the side):"Everything is normal. Thanks to God there's no post arrest damage, due to the immediate first aid doctor Lee provided."
Taehyung, Jimin and Mr Jeon who were in doctor song's cabin sighed in utmost relief.
Doctor Song:"However, according to his condition Dr Lee told me, hurtful anxiety and the extreme grief that was almost unbearable for the patient are only possible reasons of his sudden cardiac arrest. Strong stress induced ventricular arrhythmia/tachycardia is very potential cause of cardiac arrest."
Mr Jeon shifted a little on his place and Taehyung sighed while Jimin kept quiet. They knew what caused Jungkook's condition.
Mr Jeon:"My son will be fine right?"
He asked once again.
Doctor Song:"Don't worry, he'll be fine however it's better if he doesn't have such stress again. Otherwise this condition will happen again and it'll be fatal."
They somehow became stiff at that.
Taehyung:"We....we'll try our best. Is there anything else ?"
Doctor Song:"Not really. Just one of his right side ribs is fractured but don't be worried, it'll be healed soon."
They thanked the doctor.
You and your mom had forcefully sent Mrs Jeon to home so that she could take some rest and Sooah followed her. Mrs Jeon requested you to not leave Jungkook's side and you promised her. Now Jimin was going to take Mr Jeon home as well, while Taehyung will stay at hospital. Your dad had left for office but your mom was still there with you.
The news of Jungkook's cardiac arrest was kept totally hidden from media.

You sipped on the coffee in your hands and then traced the edges of plastic cup. Your mom looked at you and caressed your back, while sitting beside you. She glanced at Jungkook's sleeping figure.
Mrs Shin:"It's so unexpected honey. I never imagined.....we never imagined that this will happen."
You kept quiet, clenching the cup in your hands. You had been thinking about the whole thing since hours now and you had finally reached a decision. Yes, you didn't love him but you also knew he loved you till no extent.
He did wrong, he was at fault....but....he did try to ammend his mistakes. He regretted. He was right when he said no one would ever be able to understand insanity and extremity of his love. His every word came out to be truth.
After considering everything You forgave him. Maybe it'll take time to forget everything bad but you did forgive him. You couldn't bring yourself to give him any pain anymore now that you knew and witnessed he was h€lla serious when he said he'd d!e without you.
Yn:"Mom"
She hummed.
Yn:"I've decided to......give it a chance. I cannot bear to hurt him anymore. Today....he reached here just because I left him....what if something else...."
You trailed off and shivered a little making your mom's eyes soft. She caressed your back.
Yn:"I.....I want to give our relationship a chance. I....i want to forgive him for his mistakes. I am not going to take divorce. I am afraid of hurting him anymore."
You said softly but weakly. She sighed and nodded. Her heart was hurting to see you like that.
Mrs Shin:"Honestly.....keeping everything aside, your father and I will always be by your side. We talked and we think that it's better if you take this decision totally by yourself."
You gulped. Now there was just one thorn stuck in your throat. Jiah's feelings. You knew she was moving on, and you knew Jungkook would've never accepted her even if you weren't in the picture because he simply didn't feel anything for her. For Jungkook she was like just any other stranger on this planet. But still.....she was your sister.
You were guilty towards her and you'll feel like this ..... probably forever. But at this moment your heart decided to give Jungkook the chance, the chance that he had been pleading for. You decided to give this marriage a go. Your heart decided that and you had accepted decision of your heart.

You were alone in the room, sitting on the stool beside him. His eyes were closed, and his handsome face looked calm. Sighing softly you held his hand that had an IV tube attached and then softly removed hair from his forehead with your other hand.
Yn:"You're so...... stubborn."
You whispered and your eyes moistened again.
Yn:"I've never seen someone as insane as you are."
You again mumbled and your thumb gently caressed his left cheek.
Moving your hand away from his cheek you daintily held his big hand with both of your small ones. There was a knock on the door.
Yn:"Come in."
Taehyung entered inside. He looked at you and offered you a small smile which you reciprocated politely.
Taehyung:"Here, I brought food. Let's eat."
He said, placing the containers on table and opening them but you slightly shook your head.
Yn:"I don't have appetite."
He sighed and looked at you seriously.
Taehyung:"Yn-shi please don't be like this. Jungkook won't like it when he'll find out you didn't take care of yourself. Please, a few bites. Mrs Shin told me you haven't eaten anything."
Your mom had gone to visit Mrs Jeon. You bit your lower lip and looked at Jungkook before looking back at Taehyung. He seemed tired and his face clearly described how distressed and overwhelmed he was with the whole situation. Still he was caring for you. Not wanting to trouble him anymore you quietly stood up and made your way to sit beside him. You both were eating in silence when he broke it.
Taehyung:"Do you want to go home for sometime ? You must be tired. I am here with Jungkook."
He asked even though he hadn't left the hospital since the moment he had stepped in. But he was somehow at peace because your mom told him that you decided not to divorce Jungkook.
Yn:"No, it's okay. I want to be here when he wakes up."
He couldn't argue more because it was right. It was better for you to be here when Jungkook wakes up.

A few hours later
He was looking at you continuously, your hand was in his firm grip while his brain was processing everything that happened and why he was in the hospital. Doctors were checking him and discussing something within themselves. You gripped his hand back that gave strength to his smitten heart making him relax a little, and then you averted your eyes towards the medics who were checking on him. A few minutes ago you found his eyes fluttering and a little movements in his body that's when you instantly pressed the button and called doctors.
Taehyung and your mom were standing on the side hoping for Jungkook to be fine.
Taehyung:"Is everything alright doctor ?"
He asked worried.
Doctor Lee:"We'll inform you briefly Mr Kim."
He replied before continuing his examination.
Doctors tried to communicate with Jungkook, and he responded in a way that assured doctors that there wasn't anything wrong with him.
Doctor Lee:"Mr Kim we're done with the checkups. Everything is alright you don't have to worry. Only his one rib is fractured and it'll be healed soon. We've applied splinter on it. We'll have to keep him admitted for at least a week to keep him in check."
Jungkook:"I.....I want to sit."
He mumbled to doctor, eyes not leaving you for a moment afraid that if he blinks you'll disappear.
Doctor understood and took the remote adjusting bed in the way that made Jungkook sit comfortably.
Taehyung thanked doctor. All of you were relieved at that. The staff left after doing their work. Taehyung wanted to hug Jungkook but after looking at Jungkook's condition, and the way he had his gaze fixated on you while his hand was clasping yours tightly, Taehyung understood that Jungkook was still processing everything and he needed to be with you at the moment hence he exited the room with your mother leaving you and Jungkook alone. He had to inform Mr and Mrs Jeon as well.
As soon as you were alone with him, you took a seat beside him and he inhaled sharply.
Jungkook:"A-are you for real ?"
He whispered breathily and your welled up eyes gave up, allowing few tears to roll down your cheeks. Jungkook frowned feeling hurt at your tears. His hand slowly wiped those precious pearls and delicately cupped your cheek.
Jungkook:"D-don't cry."
He said, with red eyes.
Yn:"W-why did you do that ?"
You mumbled before clenching his hospital shirt in your small fist.
Jungkook:"What did I do ?"
He muttered not knowing what he did.
Yn:"You just.....you did this to yourself. You reached here on hospital bed. You weren't waking up. Do you....do you know how afraid I was ?"
You managed to keep your tears at bay.
Jungkook (in trance):"And do you know what am I afraid of ?"
You stared in his doe orbs.
Jungkook:"That this is all a dream. Or maybe my hallucination. That I'll blink and you'll disappear leaving me alone."
He said, fear evident in the tone and you sniffed before carefully wrapping your fragile arms around him, making sure not to touch his fractured rib and stuffed your face in his shoulder making his heart stop for a second before it started beating vigorously.
Jungkook:"Love."
He whispered with insanity of his love.
Yn:"I am not leaving you. I'll....not disappear this time."
He inhaled sharply, still not completely believing that it's reality and not one of his beautiful dreams where you're in his arms. Slowly his arms started clenching around you pulling you more into him and he buried his face in your hair......little sobs started leaving his mouth.
Your tears fell too....due to overwhelming emotions of the moment.
