Variety (Todoroki X Bakugo X OC)

Chapter 14

I could hear Present Mic commentating on how everything was unfolding. Telling the world how we had gotten into the school, and who our parents were. That information alone caused quite the uproar of cheers. But I couldn't focus on what was going on in the stands, I need to finish this damn race. Even if I don't come first, but I still wished to make it through the rounds.

Todoroki and I were still leading with Bakugo hot on our heels, when the next obstacle came up. This was a canyon with loads of little pillars scattered about, ropes connected between them. I was just about to jump to start flying when my foot was frozen to the ground, and Todoroki was gliding across the canyon. Being propelled by his ice. I caused the area around me to heat up, the sun rays melting the ice.

Then took off flying after him, using the drafts and currents to once again gain on him. Bakugo not too far behind us, still striving to come out on top, of course that was when Bakugo shot a blast at me, causing me to dodge to avoid getting hit.

However I ended up colliding with the ground on the other side of the canyon, as I lost focus for a few seconds. Now both of them were ahead of me, the rest of the students coming across the canyon after us.

I laid there for a few seconds, catching my breath before getting up and chasing them down on foot. Knowing I'm more of a target in the air, so I began making my way across the minefield, which had been the next task. The boys were already half way across it, but I needed to think carefully about this.

Mines kept going off all around me, but I didn't once waver or lose focus. Suddenly Izuku came out of nowhere, flying over everyone on a piece of robot. He soared towards a fighting Bakugo and Todoroki who were both trying to gain the lead.

However as soon as the boy flew past them, they stopped fighting and began chasing the boy down. With the rest of the competition gaining on me, I said fuck it on not flying and shot into the air once more.

Watching as Izuku was now neck and neck with them, as they managed to catch up, until he flung his broken robot part into the ground causing a mine to go off, a flash of pink filled the air as well as a loud noise.

But I flew through it, landing once more and racing after the three of them. Heart beating loudly in my ears as I finished fourth in the whole race. From the stands I could see my mother smiling down at me, waving her hand in excitement.

I stood there with hands on my knees trying to catch my breath. Fuck for a hero in training I needed to build up my stamina for running. Course in most cases I just flew but now I'd have to take up running.

"I think I left my lungs back there," I state to Ochako who was making her way over. Izuku not too far from me, I'll be honest his cleaver way of making it to first without really using his quirk was genius. Since he didn't have much control over it.

"Yeah that was quite the workout," she says also breathing heavily as she congratulated Deku on his win.

Bakugo looked pissed that he was once again bested by the green hair boy, and I really wanted to know what beef he had against Izuku. Like from what I knew of the green hair boy he seemed like an absolute sweetheart who thrived at caring for others, plus there were a few times where he'd give me tips on how to better improve control of my quirks. He was very analytical and liked taking notes on everyone.

Next it was time to announce the next game which was going to be a calvary battle. And 42 of us have moved onto that round.

We'd have to get into teams of up to four people and work together to steal headbands from other people. Each person was worth certain points depending on their placement in the first task. Since Izuku was first he was ten million points, meaning everyone would be trying to take him down.

A timer for fifteen minutes played on the screen as people rushed to form teams for the game.

"Would you like to join my team?" Todoroki asks as he stood in front of me, hands shoved into his pockets casually.

"Oh are we friends again?" I asked with a chuckle, jokingly nudging his shoulder.

"It was a race you know. Plus you of all people know that I won't hold back even if against my best friend," he stated letting out a sigh, and I gave him a shit eating grin.

"I'm just teasing, I knew what I was getting into. Course my foot is still a tad cold, but I'd be honoured to join your team," I replied patting his shoulder, knowing that he definitely already had a plan for how he wanted this to go, and who he was going to ask.

"If I wasn't competing in this, you know I'd bet on you to win," he says, causing my heart to flutter slightly in my chest. What was with me lately, firstly feeling like this when Bakugo touched my hand a few weeks ago. Now upon hearing Todoroki say that if things were different that he would bet on me to win.

"Of course you would, I mean am I not your favorite person ever?" I teased once more causing him to shake his head, but smiled at the laugh I recieved in return.

"Depending on the day," he retorts before walking around to pick two more members, deciding on Iida and Denki.

We stood facing him as he went to explain our roles. Denki would make up the left wing using his quirk to keep people at bay while I'd make up the right. My job was defence, and Iida would take the front and have forward defence, we'd also rely on him for speed. That left Todo to use his ice to our advantage and grab headbands.

"Does that mean you'll use your ice and fire to cause diversions for everyone?" Iida asked with a curious expression.

"No when I'm in battle I never use my left side," he states, turning to look at the stands. Following his gaze I spotted Endeavor at the very back looking in our direction. I flipped him off with a smirk, earning a laugh from Shoto.

"Egotistical bastard," I muttered so only he could hear. The nerve he had to come here, I hope he didn't try anything.

Timer went off which meant that we were now really to start the game. Here goes nothing......
