"If you're in love with 2 people..."

So there's this quote- don't quite know where it's from I saw it on pintrist and it said tinkerbelle said this, but I don't remember her saying that at all (also- so do people ship tinkerbelle and Peter Pan?)

Anyways the quote it "if you have to chose between me and her chose her because if you really loved me there wouldn't be another choice"

And someone said it reminds them of this quote "if you are in love with two people at the same time chose the second because if you really loved the first you wouldn't fall for the second" (i think that's a Johnny Depp quote?? That's what pintrist said)

Anyways I had heard the Johnny Depp quote before a long time ago- way before I even new what aro or ace were. And I thought it was kinda deep and I was just like "omg wow so deep" but even then, in like middle school, elementary school (I forget how old I was but definitely no older than 7th grade, probably even no older than 6th grade) I knew this also just wasn't right. Because you could also say to chose the first because you wouldn't still love the first if you're really in love with the second.

Also- like people need to get it into their heads that you can love more than one person. "I should be the only option" for certain things, sure. But not for everything.

I just can't understand how it's normally for people not have this mindset of "its not good enough for me to be the first option I need to be the only option or you don't really love me" like there can be more than one option for me to go to a person and they can be equally good options but based on what I need I may just need a specific person.

I'll never understand this. Like what do you mean you need to be the only option? I'd pay just to be any option.

Like- I just. I don't get it 😭😭

Like I actually kinda hate this quote like no, I can be in love with more than one person.

And it just. Like it kinda hurts in a way. Because it kinda makes me think of how there will be instances a boy as a girlfriend and a girl best friend and the girlfriend is all mad at him for spending time with her automatically assuming he's in love with her, and in fiction he always is. Because the romantic love constantly get prioritized and out above.

It happened in the new Goosebumps, I've talked about this show on my other rants book when he episodes were first coming out. Isaiah and ...Margot? Is that her name 😭 I forget. Anyways they're best friends, neighbors. And Isaiah's girlfriend is all like jealous he's hanging out with her because "she's a teenager girl our age you're always with"

And what do you know, the last few episodes they realize they are in love.

And this is the thing. I've seen people say let's let a boy and a girl just be friends. And I agree, we need more boy - girl friendships but the thing is- "just be friends". Just. Because it'll never get the same appreciation as romance. It will never be seen as the same level of love, it'll always be seen as less.

Not to like constantly be talking about my book that's not even out yet- but like this is something I wanna accomplish with my book. My main characters have a very deep platonic connection and they're a boy and a girl and I want to show how deep that platonic love can go and how it's just as special as romance.

So yeah. Also I still need to make a cover for this- I'll get on that. It's also my last day of school so. That's unreal. I can't believe I'm graduating and I'm just done. Like, I'm still going to college but that's completely different and I'm gonna live on campus so it's like kinda scary. It's fine. I'll survive.

Anyways thanks so much for listening! I hope you all have a wonderful day/night. Take care 💚💜
