Space Between

I know I said I wasn't gonna talk about it but I can't stop thinking about it now so here's another rant/discussion thing about Space Between (song above)

So basically, it's just really annoying when people say Mal and Evie should be lovers  because it feels like I can't argue back or say it's platonic because people will think I'm homophobic. Like no I get upset when it happens to boy/girl friendships too.

And I really can't argue because to them the actresses saying they had a crush on each other confirms it for them and I get it. If the actor of my favorite character said that character was aromantic I'd consider it canon in my heart.

Off topic but that should be a thing. We have canon, we have headcanon, we even have fanon (when the entire fandom agrees something to be true.) we should have heart canon. It's essentially like head canon but stronger. Idk it's an idea in development

Anyways I get why people would then consider it "canon" bc the actress said it was a love song. But it just o guess upsets me that if I disagree I could get called homophobic.

It's just, I love space between in a platonic way but if it's a romantic song it kinda gives me the ick.

Especially because the song was about them going their own way and following and building their own separate lives in different worlds essentially. Yet everyone says the difference between romance and platonic love is a romantic partner is someone you build your life with. And space between is about them building their own lives, still supporting each other along the way but doing their own thing. So by that logic how is space between a romance song?

I don't know. See this is called self sabotage. I could just move on and forget about it and keep listening to it platonically but my brain ruins it for me.

Yea, I wish there was a world without romance that I could escape to sometimes.

Anyways that's all for tonight. Thanks for listening and I hope you have a great day or night 💚💜
