That's supposed to make sense??

Okay so like??? I'm so lost lol. This is like a two in one bc they kinda relate. Where to even begin?

Descendants. Are you familiar with the movies? If not, quick run down of the important stuff that relates to what I'm gonna talk about. Descendant is about the kids of all the heroes and villains. Belle and Beast rule the kingdom and banished the villains to an island. Their son Ben thought the kids should be given a chance so they invite 4 villain kids  to start. One of which is Mal, daughter of Maleficent. So she has magic. 

In the first movie the villain kids' (VKs) parents tell them to steal fairy godmothers wand to drop the barrier spell keeping them on the island. Mal needs to get close to Ben to do this since he's becoming king so she puts a love spell on him. (Which ends up breaking bc of the enchanted lake but he still like pretends to be spelled? And they fall in love. Touching story for the grandkids. If you know you know)

Anyways, I saw a TikTok that points this out and asks why did Ben even fall in love with her if she spelled him for a bad reason? And then someone in the comments pointed out that in the descendants books that serve as prequel's that Ben had dreams of a girl with purple hair and green eyes (what mal looks like) and that he fell in love with her before he knew her. And the person replied "oh that makes sense"

No. No it doesn't. It actually makes less sense. He didn't know her so how can he fall in love with her!?? At least in the movie after the spell wore off they were actually spending time together and he probably saw the good in her. 

And people go like "oh it's fiction" but that's not a good excuse 😭 if something isn't romantic in real life it shouldn't be romantic in fiction.

"Awwwe he stalks her. So cute" but if that happens in real life it's creepy so why isn't it creepy in fiction. That example is more of a dark romance novel. I can't think of a more moderate example right now.

But yeah the whole dream thing might get a pass cause it's fiction but that's just not how things work. Unless I'm wrong and allos are out here falling in love with people they don't know just because they appear in their dreams.

It would make more sense if they fell for someone then started dreaming about them because then it's like oh "I like you" but if you dream about them first, it's "you fit my qualifications"

Idk. Or maybe I'm just wrong. But honestly none of this makes any sense
